So after getting a hosting plan with godaddy and spending money and time on articles and content etc etc.
My bank account was empty and i realised there when godaddy took down my website.
but when trying to renew my hosting it just seems as if im starting fresh and never was hosting a website?

Chatting support and they said they deleted my website... -_-

but luckilyyy he said he might be able to restore my website but its a 150$ Fee

Now i dont know if other hosting services do that but thats ABSOLUTE BS!!!!

they really know how to rack in the money .

Any suggestions? should i change my hosting

I've never had that happen at namecheap. I personally stay away from godaddy.

I was in SHOCK , i just wrote to the support person saying "oh my god are you serious" ?????
hahah like i understand if its been a few months or something its been like a week

Are you using some nulled themes because the last time my two domains were deleted by them? Thank you, GoDaddy and FOFF

what do u mean by nulled themes ? i bought a premium wordpress them,, i think its funny how they just delete them haha like they would have no worry about just deleting an authority site

What was the reason for deletion when you contacted support?

Lol they don't delete your site just cuz you use a Nulled theme. Wtf.

Yep, my site got hacked once while I was on GoDaddy and had to pay $150 restoration fee. That shit is robbery. ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR SITE.

They do it on purpose , there quick to delete so then your only option is to pay the fee and restore. i say they make some good money by doing that.. why would it cost 150 in the first place ? like if ur website is genuinely deleted then there is no restoring it ? unless they dont actually delete the files they just slap a 150$ bill for u to get them back

They just said its because a payment was due and they couldnt withdraw the money from account.
but the trick is i didnt realise because my website was only taken down yesterday and when i contacted them there asking for a 150$ fee

I've moved to hostgator sense that incident, and I've been pretty happy for the most part.

So that is your fault isn't it?
You didn't pay the re-registration fee. They keep sending you mails regarding termination with 'x' days and so on. Didn't bother checking those?

Nope not possible, You or someone who had access to your account might have done that.
I don't think godaddy will do that unless you break their TOS.

I can show you chat logs , yep they did it, nice trick tho il give them that, website only down yesterday contact today and its a 150$ fee to get restored , thats how it works they assume on people to forget and when they do u have no other choice hahah

i left godaddy after they sent me a bill for exceeding bandwidth, justhost is what i use now

I don't like GoDaddy due to their exorbitant prices considering how destitute their hosting is, but your initial post made it sound as if they just arbitrarily delete websites without any real reason and then ask for money to reactivate the sites like they're the mob of hosting.

I have a client who has hosted their site on GoDaddy (their choice, not mine) for around 6 years. During those 6 years, her site was:

  • Hacked
  • Hosting malware due to being hacked
  • Linked to porn websites
  • Linked to gambling websites
  • Linked to spam websites
  • Used as a link farm
  • Used to send e-mail spam.
But after all of this, their site was never deleted, so it strikes me as odd that they would just shut it down without much notice.

What I want to know is what date your payment is usually due on. They usually send out numerous warning e-mails before they shut down your site as they did when my client was late on her hosting payment. Also, how much was your usual hosting plan in comparison to the $150 they're asking for?

I would love to suggest you to use namecheap. Their support is world's 1st class support. Even i am using them from last years.

I totally agree. I love namecheap, they accept bitcoin, and their customer service is awesome! They even have a URL marketplace that is super quick. Just sold 2 domains yesterday.

I really recommend them.

Definitely they delete your domain and site, if your theme is infected by hidden malicious code :D
