Their managed wordpress users database got hacked a few days ago but maybe domain registrants database (email, pass) got taken too. Facebook's database got hacked in the past resulting in leaks of multiple emails, phones, pass.

If GoDaddy could get hacked, then another registrar can get their database hacked too and it compromises their user's email and results in lots of phishing and scamming emails from hackers.

So do you use your main/work email for online marketplaces like GoDaddy, Amazon and similar sites?

Bump.

It shouldn't matter much, what email address you use. What you should do is enable 2FA on every important site (mailing, registrar/hosting, banking, cloud services, social media), where it's possible. When leaks happen, they can't do anything with just your username and password combo.
