Godaddy can suck my left nut!

you still can get it back if you act now...give them a CALL and explain to them, you will probably pay a small fine of less than a hundred bucks.

IMHO, it is you who fucked it up yourself. You know how much your traffic to your domain, how valuable is your domain, low Alexa etc... and you still did not have the urgency to renew beforehand. This is a dog eats dog world and everybody will be pounding on expired domains like yours not to say the registrars themselves so blame no one other than yourself.

You know what, the most annoying thing for me is to receive Godaddy's renewal reminders every now and then so you have no reason to blame them for not reminding you.

Lastly, if I were the one who snapped up your domain, you can bet that I will never gonna return it back to you.

It's been like 2 weeks since my last domain with them expired and I'm still getting notices to renew it. Like 3 of them have said this is your final notice lol.
 
Got a voice mail back saying that my domain can be purchased back at the premium, low price of $50,000 if I act today. I went to the domain, and it's now parked with advertising on it, however it still has my personal whois info..
 
I was trawling the forums about godaddy and found this thread. These ppl just hijacked 50+ Domains from me because I didn't react on time (2 days) sending them a scanned ID. They are doing it to 'protect my payment method' wtf.

Oh and btw, they flood your mail with reminders IF the domain is not important. If it is, you get 2 or 3 masked as their usual spent 400 save 2.95 spam. And you sometimes don't even get 1 reminder.

According to their terms they have to send -several- emails (I received about 6 for my domain,) and after expiration it goes into redemption for 42 days.

Inform them that you'll sue for fraud and breach of their terms if they don't allow you to recover it from redemption.
 
This is something I am considering. I've only ever received one email for this domain, but I get flooded by them for my shit domains.. go figure.
 
That sucks. It would be nice if ICANN laws were stricter on this type of behavior.

You're right. I've received the same amount of notices before termination. It's possible someone in Tech Support had their eye on your domain and realized how much bacon it could bring home.
 
thats a sad story man, but you should use the autorenewal function... they will send you the renewal notice and after the time is up they will charge yr credit card automatically... but anyways gd sux - i prefer name.com (they are flexible + they have a private whois for free)

I absolutely hate how GoDaddy looks: images, videos (I'm Bob and I'm very funny hurr durr herp derp, seriously those videos are terrible) and ''SPECIAL HOT DEALS ACT NOWWWW everywhere, if you want to buy a domain you have to hit the ''next'' ''not interested'' ''piss off with your crappy hosting'' button at least twelve times. I like the way a site like dynadot looks way more, simple and organized.

as an aside, I have seen several times now that you may penalized for having your domain expiration under a year with the big G. If its a good domain with money coming in I would suggest to anyone to just renew the domain for a least a year but preferably as long out as you see it being profitable
 
I lost 2 to namecheap and they wanted $250 each to redeem them but luckily they weren't important ones and I let them keep them. Most registrars have a redemption period that you can renew for their standard renewal price, then after that they charge $200 or more. You should have that option. If not they're worse than the others.

Long story short, I switched to name.com and it's the best thing I could have done. They also have a higher price after the grace period but I just keep all the important ones on "auto-renew" so I don't have that problem anymore.

And as luck would have it, I was able to re-register the 2 that I lost with namecheap. HA! I don't like them any more than I like GD.

Read their TOS so you know your rights.

Godaddy is known for sniping domain names. Do a google search on it. Use namecheap.com instead also.

If you check domains at godaddy and dont register them RIGHT away then godaddy WILL "STEAL" them automatically. This is not a new thing they do. Very dirty tactics.
 
sorry to hear that.how much money was it making?you could give us a range if you do not want to tell exactly.
 
just enable the auto renew option if you have troubel to remember to renew your domains
