This morning, GoDaddy disclosed that an unknown attacker had gained unauthorized access to the system used to provision the company’s Managed WordPress sites, impacting up to 1.2 million of their WordPress customers. Note that this number does not include the number of customers of those websites that are affected by this breach, and some GoDaddy customers have multiple Managed WordPress sites in their accounts.

I don't want to imagine how much this Hacker can make with all that information.

I have 4 domains registered with them I have had them there for 10 years and am too lazy to move, but I have never and would never host anything with them or any other EIG service.

I wonder how many cheap PBN services have been hit though?

Same here. I have most of the domains registered with them but no hosting.

Well we will see if anyone popup here who hosts their PBNs with them.

How sad to hear they didn't bother to encrypt user passwords. They are not the only one who does that, I don't see a reason why not.
 
Why were they storing passwords in plain text? Probably for snooping around in customer's sites?

They spend like billions on TV and internet ads, but cannot afford to encrypt passwords.

Yes its very strange, first thing I learnt building a site was to encrypt with best hash, the password. Maybe I'm a better programmer than I think, and godaddy can hire me! :D

Yeah exactly, I do the same. No point of having authentication if you are storing passwords in plain text. :D

Please don't spoil your career by working with noobs. :p
