Godaddy $1 .COM Coupon!

Dealing with GoDaddy in 10 steps:

  1. Me buys cheap domain from GoDaddy.
  2. Me scratches head on order page about the 1000 extra options that they give me, why they show me that if I didn't specifically indicated I want something extra.
  3. Me tries to find a button that is labbeled "Get me out of here and pay just for the cheap domain" and pays attention not to accidentally click any of the extra options.
  4. Me finds the buttons, pays for the cheap domain.
  5. Me happy, me haz cheap domain.
  6. One year goes by, me getz emai about $20 payment to GoDaddy
  7. Me boiling, me nervous, me not understandz, me go read terms and conditions and GoDaddy site
  8. After 2 hours, me transfer domain to 1and1
  9. Me happy again
  10. Me enter in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts the following "127.0.0.1 godaddy.com"

You know, I think I'm actually at the stage with GoDaddy that I'd rather pay the extra $7USD and just go with Name Cheap.

I don't care about the haters... I just love Godaddy... Thanks for the info.

you guys jump down someones throat for trying to share some stuff that someone may need. Just because they are not using some uber massive pushed URL within the secret walls of black hat techniques...let people use whatever they want....its a coupon..dont swan dive off your roof because of it.

sorry did not mean to jump on the op. Just trying to show everyone that godaddy has some nasty problems with it. no one thinks they are going to use the domain the next year? you want to pay 3 times the amount then? Whois privacy + domain registartion is expensive...they thow out cheap promotion coupons to try to get people sucked into the trap.

not sure if you get free whois with that coupon but your looking at 5 dollars for it I think... that comes to 6 bucks. You aren't making out that well since you will be raped next year on fees

are godaddy really that bad to deal with?

Godaddy is good for whitehat websites.

Once you start doing blackhat stuff and get complaints you might encounter problems with them.

So if your creating whitehat website go ahead and use godaddy, but for blackhat stuff use other registrars to avoid problems.
