If you're planning on just buying a domain then buy it on godaddy for their $0.99 deals. Other than that don't bother with godaddy for hosting.

You can rank anything on any hosting. It's the domain that matters. Also if you try to use free hosting the load speed will be shit. This might affect your ranking as well.

yeash it have a good deals, Godaddy offers cheap domain but after one year, the renewal is expensive. For the Godaddy support, there is no Godaddy chat support in our country...

It really depends on what you are wanting to host. If you have just a fly by night site then they are fine. If you are trying to have a business and uptime and support are important to you then I would look around.
