Guys any one using managed wordpress hosting from go daddy? any reviews

never used their services apart from buying domains
why don't you go for self hosted wordpress on a shared hosting ?

I looked into it, mainly due to speed and ease of setup, however, after reading many reviews there is massive lag problems, kind of like the queues at fast food restaurant at dinner time, due to so many people using it. I would like to hear someone say something positive about the price and the uptime and speed, but very little i could find. If its your first site, then you have nothing to lose. Worth it to get started, and you can always move the site later.

Terrible service, will block or ban you for no reason and tech support doesn't give a sh%&. Don't use Godaddy, there are several great hosting options, hostwinds, hoststage and others. See the marketplace, they often give discounts for BHW members.

You're better off going with a slightly nicer (yet still cheap) host if you're trying to save money.

I use Site5, but there are tons of cheap quality hosting companies.

THIS

You want to screw your competitor ? Go see if they are hosted by GoDaddy or even if they registered the Domain with them. If so, make a complaint and they will shut down the site by blocking the DNS.

See ya site and then good luck getting it back. Stay far far away from GoDaddy.

Completely agreed Godaddy support staff is fucking annoying, they dont help at all.

I would rather purchase some shared hosting and set it up your self, if I were you.

I would advice hostgator, you can try 'em for a cent for a month (NON-REFERRAL CODE - 404PAGE). I use them for 4 blogs and a static site, costs me around $9 total. However the support takes 15 minutes to talk to on chat and they usually ask you to set-up a ticket. Apart from the lazy work mentality and over-priced domain registration they are a great host.

I disagree with Bartosimpsonio and I usually agree with 99.99% of what he says.

I have a Wordpress specific hosting provider I use in Pressable and the lack of immediate support gets on my nerves like you wouldn't believe. "Open a ticket and we will come back to you in 48 hours" Really? Just the 2 days then.

When I call Godaddy for any technical issue the service has always been excellent, I have had their staff on the phone with me for over an hour resolving issues. Also I have called UK business hours, out of hours, it is a 24/7 operation.

A lot of people say that GD is rubbish, however my experience of them has been very good. The only caveat is that I have a lot of domains with them, I do not know if this has a bearing on how I am treated.

The downside of GD hosting is the speed, or lack thereof, with their smaller shared hosting packages.

Whoever you end up using, do not use a host that does not provide phone support unless you are very confident in your own technical abilities.

Godaddy had explosive growth because it was small company, cheap, service wasn't terrible and they broke the networksolutions monopoly back in the day. But then they became networksolutions themselves, big, slow and they don't need one or two new customers so they don't care about good support.

Worst of all, their owner shoots elephants just to watch them die.

You'd be better off with shared hosting from pretty much any company. It's cheaper and will provide you with the same quality.

No matter how GoDaddy's sale pitch goes.. just remember that their WordPress Hosting is just Shared Hosting + fresh WordPress installation. Why pay a lot for such an extra when people like me usually charge about 1$ for WordPress installs..

My opinion..stay away from godaddy...I had hosting at register.com/godaddy/hostgator and bluehost. The first is very expensive..and their c panel disaster.Godaddy is only good to buy domain, because they always accept coupons so it is cheaper.Hostgator is better than godaddy but still not good. Why these ones are not good: I had to wait for an SSL certificate 2 month!I was arguing with them why is it not ready..at the end they said..that kind is not good for me..because bla bla bla.Beside that what they say what they can provide/ like php version etc./ is most of the time only available on the highest monthly subscription! Bluehost was my option at the end, which is not that cheap, but it is still fine.Everything was working on it/delicate php auction script/ and i host 3 WP site with one hosting account.I think the point: domain from godaddy, hosting from Bluehost./Good uptime and ok speed./Boost it with a CDN.

I have few wordpress blogs on Godaddy hosting, often they are crashed and you will loss all your data. Better you go for HostGator or BlueHost.

Stay away from Godaddy. Check out Hostwinds or Servinio.

just like few mentioned above, its only good for domains with discount coupons not so good for hosting
