Hi

As google isnt verifiying businesses anymore I'm looking for other ways. If a business doesnt have a profile yet would it make sense to use the missing place function with a different account ?
I guess Google doesnt list the business imiediately but maybe worth a try?
or have they stopped that service too?
If this would work I could start collecting reviews and claim it afterwards...

You can request a postcard verification, Usually takes few days to arrive in the USA, but since COVID19 people waited a month and did not get it yet. so im not sure
if your looking to bypass and make it quicker, i can help with that. you can send me a msg. thanks

GMB is actually working more or less normally again since last week. Verifications and info changes get done, not as fast as before, but at least we´re back in business.

Random question but you seem to be doing exactly what I'm just starting doing...
My question is based in the assumption that you're already doing some SEO to rank in google for the keyword you're targeting (if I'm wrong in assuming that let me know)

But in your experience how much of a difference in traffic do you see between just a standard lets say #1 spot for the keyword your targeting vs actually having a live, active GMB listing for that same keyword. Also, I'm going to PM you about something that I'd love to hear back from you. Thanks!

IMO For local, smaller businesses an optimized GMB is way more effective then ranking your site in the SERP.
