Hello

I’m hoping someone here can provide some insight or direction. Last week, my Google My Business profile was suddenly suspended without any clear reason. I’ve hired a freelance company to help with GMB management, but I personally review and approve all content before anything is posted.

We’re a legitimate, service based business, fully registered as an LLC with the state. The business name on the profile is our actual legal name, with no keyword stuffing or violations that I can identify. There haven’t been any changes to the listing recently (no updates to hours, address, or other info), and all the posts simply highlight our services and provide helpful industry tips.

When I received the initial suspension notice, it mentioned that one of the profiles didn't follow the guidelines. In response, I immediately removed the external manager from the account and submitted an appeal.

Unfortunately, the appeal was denied. The latest message states:
“Content that violates our policies on deceptive content and behavior isn't allowed. Deceptive content intentionally misleads or deceives others.”
However, I’ve gone through everything and can’t find anything that fits that description.

If anyone has dealt with a similar situation or knows someone reputable who can assist, I’d be extremely grateful for your help or recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

That’s super frustrating especially when you’ve played by the rules. Sometimes GMB suspensions happen due to false flags or something the external manager did unknowingly. Since your appeal was denied, it might help to get a second set of eyes from a GMB expert who’s dealt with reinstatements.

Check out support groups or legit freelancers with solid reviews on Upwork or forums like Local Search Forum. You're not alone this happens more than it should.

Submit an appeal, afterwards it'll ask you to provide evidence. Upload a copy of your current LLC registration with the state with the business address.
A utility bill with the business name will help as well, but i've gotten profiles reinstated just with a DBA filing with the business address.

  1. If someone logs in from a country far from your business location (even your freelancer!).
  2. Freelancers/agencies sometimes accidentally cause issues (even just logging in from suspicious locations can trip Google's system).
  3. If you hide your address but Google can’t verify you’re serving areas properly.
  4. If your business category doesn't exactly match what you offer.
  5. Too Many Posts With Calls-to-Action: Like "Call now" or "Get a free quote" spammed without much real "informative" content.

    I hope this helps.

Tough situation — GMB suspensions can be vague and tricky. I’d suggest reaching out to a verified GMB reinstatement specialist; they can spot subtle issues others might miss.

Ugh, GMB suspensions are the worst. I had a similar thing happen, and it turned out a competitor was flagging my profile with false reports. You might want to check if someone's been messing with your profile info or reviews to make you look bad.

For a real business this is not necessary, unless you are a "verified GMB reinstatement specialist" trying to sell this person something

Man, that’s frustrating especially when you’ve been following all the rules. Google’s system can be super sensitive sometimes and end up flagging legit businesses. I’d recommend gathering any official documents you can (business license, utility bills, etc.) and hitting them with another reinstatement request. You could also reach out to someone who specializes in GMB reinstatements just to be safe.

Hello there,

actually a lot profile are facing suspension reason without any issue. Days ago google suspended almost 10000 spamming profiles due to spamming and inactivity. so people are frustrated and creating more GMBs without limit. that is why google is suspending profiles if they suspect anything.

As you said, your suspension reason was violation of rules I suggest you figure out the problem first what was the reason of your suspension and only then you should try appealing. there may be an image that does not fulfill their guideline or something that google suspected. And you may know that there is a huge delay in their reply for more usage.

If you appeal without solving the problem in your profile your appeal must be denied. so you should look up to that.

My Google My Business profile was suspended last week for no clear reason. I run a legitimate LLC and review all content before it’s posted. There’s no keyword stuffing, and we haven't made any changes recently.
The suspension cited 'deceptive content,' but I can’t find anything that fits. I appealed, but it was denied. Anyone here been through this or know someone who can help get it reinstated? I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hello there,

after suspension first you should try to figure out the problem behind the suspension and solve it. then you should submit an appeal otherwise it will be denied. if you dont solve the issue then your profile will remain suspended.

you mentioned deceptive content. you should revise your profile from A to Z again then appeal.

Thanks

What you need to do is send them your company's official address information via email. Request a manual review and establish direct communication.

I have the "deceptive content" issue too.

I'll appeal it, but I won't hold my breath.

Has anyone else resolved this issue?

Update on Google Business Profile Suspension, Seeking Further Input

Hello everyone,

First off, I just want to sincerely thank each of you who took the time to respond to my original post. Your feedback, suggestions, and support have been incredibly helpful and appreciated more than you know.

Since my last update, I submitted a detailed appeal along with all of our legitimate documentation, including our business address, LLC formation documents, and proof that we are a fully registered service based business. I also explained in the appeal that I had previously hired a freelancer to assist with SEO and GMB content, but that I personally reviewed and approved all material before anything went live. As soon as the suspension occurred, I immediately removed this external manager from the profile.

Unfortunately, I received another response from Google which reads:

“Thank you for your time and patience while we reviewed your issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your request because it violates our policies found here: Overview of Google Business Profile policies.

We have reviewed the reported issue and found that the location of the profile owner or manager is in 'IN' and they were created in the 'US' locale. As a result, the suspension can't be withdrawn.”

This response is vague and confusing. To my understanding, it seems to be referencing a location mismatch, possibly related to the freelancer who was added as a manager, even though they were removed and had no deceptive intent or spammy behavior from what I could tell. All the content was original, compliant, and focused purely on highlighting our services and providing helpful tips.

Has anyone received a similar message before when appealing a suspension? If so, what steps did you take to resolve it?

At this point, I’m trying to figure out whether Google is essentially forcing us to completely rebrand and start from scratch (new business name, new registration with the state, new GMB listing, bank accounts, etc.), which would be a massive setback for us.

Any insights, similar experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Again, thank you all for your continued support, it truly means a lot.

if the GMB is new I would urge you ASAP to create new GMB and leave the old one, create GMB with your company email and login only trough USA IPs and dont allow access to anyone

dont hire someone who does not know his job. clearly the one you hired is in india or the one created your profile. he doesnt really know how to remove a suspension. as you said your business is legit so it is easy as butter.
