Been wondering how some of your competitors outrank your GMBs every single time?
Well, it is not happening by accident that I can tell you.
You should treat your GMB as you would treat your blog. No matter what you do, quality over quantity, please!
Here are some of the most important GMB ranking factors of 2019 (in no particular order).
1) On page optimization
- Logo; Create or outsource a logo for your GMB. Each GMB should have its own logo.
- Banner; The banner is the image that appears right next to your GMB’s info in the map pack search result.
- Images; Tag your images with the keywords you’re looking to rank for. Likewise, you should tag your images with the GPS coordinates you’re looking to rank for.
- Description; Optimize the description for 2-3 keywords and make it really relevant to your services – be as detailed as possible.
- Website; Get a .com domain for your website. Yes, it is $9 but it goes a long way in building credibility and generating website clicks.
2) Reviews
If you decide to go down the road of getting fake reviews, make sure that those fake reviews are at least coming from Gmail accounts which were created and accessed from local residential IPs.
Google ain’t dumb. Google can differentiate reviews from real or fake Gmail accounts.
In case you’ve been wondering why the reviews that you ordered didn’t move you up the rankings, then think again.
I’m not getting low-quality reviews for my listings because they do more harm than good.
3) Traffic & CTR
After tons of testing, tons of trial and error, I came to the conclusion that traffic has been one of the most important ranking factors for sure.
Get traffic from local residential IPs. Just 10-20 super targeted clicks a day will make a big difference in your ability to outrank your competitors.
4) The RIGHT Citations
When we’re talking about ranking for competitive terms, then standard citations just aren’t going to cut it. Everyone gets them and there’s no weight in cheap citations.
The only citations that are really going to do some serious pulling are citations from niche targeted sites and directories.
They aren’t easy to get but they’ll help a lot.
5) Posting onto your GMBs
That’s another big one. I recommend posting onto your GMBs every day or every other day.
Make sure you’re posting unique content. Build your content around keywords and queries people search for.
It’s also advisable to use Youtube videos to link back to your GMBs creating additional SEO value.
Doing those things right will make a big difference in your rankings.
