I've been working with this client since mid February.... I knew it'll be a competitive market but I still went ahead and offered him my 90 day guaranteed.
I had previous clients in competitive markets but none of them in Midtown Manhattan
Client had a previous company that they worked with but they haven't seen much results and decided it's time to try something new. I was excited to take over but honestly...a bit curious if my strategy will deliver similar results in a market la New York.
I onboarded the client on Feb 13th and started working the same day. I usually see a decent increase in ranking the first month, but this time was different... but I'm like it's ok, it's New York...I'll keep doing what I do... maybe hit it a little harder and it'll start moving up soon. Another month passed by and when I was sending the monthly report to the client, I couldn't show much improvement... tried to show him how much work I put instead of the results I bring lol.
Was a little nervous on the 3rd month,.. I had to go through everything I've done from the beginning and look for faults... Couldn't find anything and if something maybe there were too many links and citations in a short period of time. I tried to look for other blackhat, manipulative strategies. Could find much on youtube or Fb groups... I looked to see what my competitors that charge $1200-1500/month do and I was surprised that I was doing more on a much lower package. But it's fair to say that I don't have the online exposure and the thousands of lowers they have.
Funny how when I've first started ranking GMBs I was trying to ask everyone for strategies and tricks,,, some would give me some nuggets but most were like test, test, test. The problem is I didn't know what I didn't know and how to test if I didn't have clients lol. Later when I really started to understand how google works, after putting 14-15 hour days for many months in a row and started thinking outside the box and do my own tweaks I started to see results I haven't seen before.
With this particular client I started doing my own stuff and I slowly noticed an increase in ranking. It took exactly 1 month for them to move from not being in the map pack, even at their location, to #1-4 on a decent size radius, considering the location. The bottom screenshot is from May 7th, one week before the 3 months mark and our client is now dominating the map pack.
Not can this charge over night?? 100% Google has ways of showing its love, but hard work and looking at things from a different angle will away keep you afloat.
