Gmail to send marketing emails

1. Yes, and still using.
2. Regular Gmail or Workspace? With regular Gmails I wouldn't go over 15-20 per account per day just to be on the safe side.
The general consensus regarding Workspace is somewhere around 25-40 emails per day.
Obviously, you can push more...but then you raise the risk of spam folders, email rejections, bans etc..
3. If your accounts' health is impeccable, and you test them thoroughly, warm them up, tweak sending and obey general cold emailing rules, then 80%+ should land in the inbox.

Yes, we've warmed our email domain, and we also use a dedicated and trusted IP,
so it's impossible to go to. spam folder

Wait, it depends on the content how many emails can I send from my Gmail account? So they actually allow to, say, "spam a little, but not too much", or what?

ive seen that happen
that if i change the email content, it gets delivered

you can do smtp, but its better if you use a script to send emails directly from the gmail GUI
 
1 yes I’ve used it
2 around 500 emails per day max on regular Gmail
3 inbox rate is low unless your domain and warmup are good

Yes, you can use Gmail SMTP to send emails, but regular accounts are limited to 500 per day (2,000 for Workspace), and whether they reach the Inbox depends on reputation and content.

I have used Gmail SMTP before it’s reliable for small volumes, but limits kick in fast. Curious, did your sends hit the inbox consistently or land in promotions?

Maximum number of emails per day:
  • For regular Gmail accounts (free @gmail.com): 500 emails/day
  • For Google Workspace (paid) accounts: 2,000 emails/day
  • Exceeding this limit can temporarily block your account.
Delivery to Inbox:
  • Gmail SMTP doesn’t guarantee Inbox placement. Emails may go to Spam depending on:
  • Content quality
  • Sending volume
  • Recipient engagement

For marketing campaigns, using dedicated email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, SendGrid, etc.) is safer for Inbox delivery.
 
Generally speaking:

Sending Gmail to personal contacts → almost always results in your inbox;

Question 1 Answer: Yes, I have used it.
Question 2 Answer: There isn’t a specific limit; you can send as many as you want.
Question 3 Answer: They were delivered to the inbox, but if you send too many emails, they will eventually go to spam.
 
Yes, Gmail SMTP works for light sending: ~500/day on personal accounts and ~2k/day on Workspace; inboxing depends on domain/IP reputation plus proper SPF/DKIM/DMARC and clean lists, so it’s not ideal for bulk.
 
Yeah, you can use Gmail SMTP to send emails, but it’s not really for bulk stuff. You can send about 500 emails a day with normal Gmail and around 2,000 if you use Google Workspace. Whether they land in the inbox or spam mostly depends on what you’re sending and how often.
