Gmail thinks I'm spamming?

Hey guys, got an issue I can't find an answer to, hopefully someone can chime in. Trying to monetize CL and using verified gmail accounts for mailing. CL has been a GIANT pain in the ass, but after solving several problems and throwing some money at it, I've gotten that out of the way and seem to be able to post successfully majority of the time

Now I got a problem with gmail. Generally, one of my ads gets around 100-150 emails before it gets flagged or I remove it myself.

Firstly, I respond to all of them manually, without copy-pasting, but replying with very similiar text and adding the same pics attachments. This seems to work fine, no bouncing back and they generally all reply back to me within a few hrs. All good right? I got over a 100 leads, all ready to whip out their credit cards and bring in the green. So I then manually respond to them all again, slightly customizing it, but this time copy-paste my closing paragraph (about 4 sentences long) and my .com domain

I get a few emails through and then they all start bouncing back with the message:
"Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

bunchofnumbersandletters(at)reply(dot)craigslist(dot)org

Technical details of permanent failure:
Message rejected. See ht_tp:_//support(dot)google(dot)com/mail/bin/answer(dot)py?answer=69585 for more information."

Eventually once 10-20 of them rack up, I get a 24h ban from that gmail account.

Does anyone have any idea how to bypass this? I'm thinking logically it's either two of these things:

*Gmail sees I'm sending so many emails with pretty much the same text

*Gmail sees I'm including the link to the same domain in every email

So how do I bypass this easily? How does it detect that what I'm sending is 'spam'?

I don't think Gmail thinks you're spamming. "Delivery failed permanently" means the email could not be sent. This would be a message you'd see if you mistyped an email address, for example. It's possible your Craig's list listing was removed or something.

Have you tried doing the same thing but with hotmail?
I kinda did the same process you just described and i never had problems with hotmail. (I didn't get 100-150 mails, i got like 50 max)

Can you use the a spin software to spin text for each mail. Then they will not be the same. It should not look spammy.

Two things.

1) If you want to avoid getting your ads flagged, you should set a longer delay. I typically send responses out at least one day later. At that point, the user reads the email while they're likely away from CL (and your post) so they don't bother flagging at all.

2) Using spintax will help, but you should also consider drafting a few different (but similar) messages entirely and rotating between them to improve your 'uniqueness'. This is important when dealing with the CL filter.

Well, I searched for a solution for the problem and found only one topic (where someone replied) on Google's forums that was also related to craigslist and he had the same error. People there suggested that, judging by the error message, it was most likely not rejected by CL, but by gmail itself

And from CL faq:
Q: Can I continue to communicate with respondents after my ad has been removed?
A: Yes, existing reply email communication threads can continue for up to 6 months.

I've confirmed it myself that it's correct. I can still communicate once I delete my ads/ads get flagged. Issue arises when I start sending emails with nearly identical texts and include the same link

I'll look into spintax, but I think I'll create maybe 10 unique responses, where I'll rotate the sentences around a bit and change the wording. Also, instead of giving them my domain directly like mydomain.com, Ill instead type it as mydomain (dot) com

Anyway, thanks for your input guys. If anyone else got any suggestions or has experienced this problem and found a solution, I'd appreciate the help. I'll test out the new approach and see if I can get around it and then bump this thread with what worked for me to help anyone else who might find this thread in the future

Edit: I'll also give hotmail a try, I know you can send up to 300 emails a day or less, depending how new your account is, which might be a problem for me. Gmail allows up to 500, unless they start bouncing like in my case and then Google gives you a time-out..

Just an update to anyone who might have the same issue in the future. I created 5 different email replies that I use to close those leads and type out my domain as MYDOMAIN . COM with two spaces between the dot to not hyperlink it

So, just changed some words up and replaced the sentences around a bit. And I just rotate between the 5 of em like 1-2-3-4-5 and then repeat. So far, so good. I guess if gmail doesn't see the same bunch of text being spammed every minute, it's good to go

I am having problem replying to cl. after I receive 100-150 emails per day and after that I reply with a plain text and the second reply is with my link. let's say I have a good day and I receive 150 emails. from this all cl users only 20 receive my email with the link. I don't know why not all

1st one sounds like Gmail was blocking you for 1 of 2 reasons. I actually think you just hit a sending limit on them. I could be wrong, but I think you can only send 200 per 24 hours. Sounds like you could've been hitting that by responding to them and then writing back to close as well. If that's not it, then it's definitely a content thing, in which case you've done the right thing by creating different messages. You should try and switch up your links too.

oneflag27, you're mail is being filtered. I'm surprised you're getting any links through to be honest, but that's why. CL doesn't like links in those response emails and will either deliver a blank message, or not deliver it at all. You'll need to come up with another way to try and get your links through.

well OP google knows everything, it looks for the headers and also the content and domains, the only way could be try to move to some custom host and send mails.

Also many people flagging your mail as spam and the bounces adds up to it, google has never been uses for 'serious' email marketing .

gmail will block cl emails after a few. Gmail email worst email to do mass message marketing don't use gmail for CL

lol emails services,today i lost one of my old accounts cause i lost the phone number i had when i signed up just because of their "security" ,airports and banks has lesser security.its only mails for god sake..takes less then 2 second to delete it.Whoever made email marketing illegal is fucked in the head.So many strange laws around the world makes you whonder what nutball is in charge.
