Gmail just blocked my personal account because I sent "unwanted content" with zero explanation and I can't appeal, there's no support, WTF????

I've sent ZERO spam or unwanted content only personal email to friends and colleagues etc, is google completely just gone to shit now?

Anybody know what to do, I use this email to login to other important services I could lose quite a bit of money and important documents if this isn't resolved

This is kind of scary. It happens though but mostly because of some other kind of reasons. Like here in India, a guy lost his G account because he had some childhood pics stored on his account and Google thought that he was storing some illegal stuff. He went to court but then again, G said his data got deleted and there is nothing they can do. Very very scary.

Wait… what?! That’s seriously scary! Feels like offline backups are the only way.

What I do is keep multiple Gmail accounts—one for work, another for Google Drive—but I also back everything up on an external drive just to be safe.

Is there any way you could have given access to someone who logged in from a different time zone, or saved something to your Drive that violates the terms of service and you shared it via a link?

It's super messed up, done a bit of research and basically since last year they have gone the "chemotherapy" approach. Put some super aggressive anti-everything filters which disable a decent chunk of innocent victims but do delete mostly all the bad accounts.

Absolutely nothing there violates terms of service, I don't even know what to complain about because they don't specify what the reason was. Can't go through and check of course because the whole inbox is disabled

you, people, are so naive.... Google (and all tech corporations) have been spying on us, and recording EVERYTHING about us for a decade or more. Google probably know more about me than my own family, but you 2 are late to finding this out about google...

Here's a clip from LR that's been addressing this over 2 years ago:

have you been using a lot of the 15 GB storage that gmail gives? It still wouldn't make sense to outright block you without a warning even if you used up most of your allocated quota, but I can't think of anything else, and a few years ago I've heard that google's running out of storage space with all of the data they store about us behind our backs, so it is possible that they might start closing accounts of those who fill up their storage...

I think I know what you mean, I've had them close a lot of my old accounts from like 10 years but they haven't been used since like 2020 and google warned about it

I do have two google accounts and both have the storage pretty much maxed out, but they said that I'm disabled for spamming, and access to both drives and all storage is still available. Just the mailing feature is blocked

well, most companies nowadays are lying to your face, just watch Louis Rosmman's channel on YT and you'll see the attack and rip-offs that companies do to their customers, so just because google says it's disabled for spamming it doesn't mean that they're right. Corporations that own the politicians are most of the time above the law, so they can do whatever they want....

This being said, even if the storage is the problem I find it hard to believe that this is why your account got disabled without as much as a warning / option to upgrade to more storage. Unless... maybe you reaching a certain storage quota had triggered an automatic disabling of the account, and the reason given it's just a random one that gets invoked often, I don't know....

Try reaching out to google support if you know how.... although, given how there's not a living soul left in these companies anymore (everything is handled by AI), you'll be much better off talking to a wall than to "customer support".

Anyway, hopefully you get your account back (and you'll figure out what went wrong and if you do, maybe you'll share with us so we can learn more about how we're getting F'd :p)

Yeah lol, corps in a nutshell:

Corp -> 8======D O <- You

I did read that you can essentially appeal an infinite number of times so, fingers crossed...

And according to their propaganda, you should be concerned about DeepSeek or TikTok...meanwhile Google, Apple, Microsoft and many more are stealing your data and personal info for decades

Have you checked or recall your activities? Gmail might detected something malicious activity that is why they blocked your account.

I had this happen about 6 years ago to old personal Gmail account. I tried logging into it and found out it was banned because someone sent unwanted content using it. I hadn't used that account for years, so I just assumed that it was compromised and someone used it to spam.

Would love to check, but cant even access the history, thnx google :)

Damn, shame
Hate these "chemotherapy" scorched earth approaches

I can't log in to my gmail account, which I've been using for 5 years. A code is sent to my phone, but it's sent to my existing gmail account, and since I can't log in to gmail, I can't enter the code sent. :D

That's unfortunate... I guess the best solution is to stop using gmail as your personal email. Choose something like proton mail.

Is there a way to contact Gmail support? I've searched extensively but haven't been able to find one.

You mean your gmail account banned or the email you sent will go to spam box?

proton mail doesnt send verifications when you sign up for social media

Thats actually scary, so backing up photos is risky now.
