Gmail asking for phone verification?

I was creating a new Gmail account to manage my day job's Google Places and I was asked to verify the account by phone. This is the first time I've had to give Google a phone number before I could access my inbox. I wanted to double check this and created another account while on one of my proxies. Once again I was asked to verify the account by phone before I could access the inbox.

This is new to me. Has anyone else run into this? From what I can remember you could create up to 5 accounts a day off of 1 IP without having to PVA.

Hey!

Restart Router.
Use ccleaner, delete everything with it.
Restart PC.

Thats what I do and I creat accounts without asking me for a phone.
 
I run on this in my inbox from time to time.
There is a small skip this step button bellow the text, so you can skip adding your phone number to the field.
 
This usually means youre accessing the gmail account from a computer that gmail doesn't recognize thats associated with the account, probably from a different ip
 
Well, the good thing it's not a mandatory field, you don't need to fill it in, but they really made the 'skip this' button invisible.
 
If you have a router, reset it and remove the history of the browser, cache and cookies. Close the browser. After restarting the browser, register your gmail account easily. :)
Secondly, you can use any VOIP service to verify your gmail via Voice Call.

In addition, I have heard that, over Voice Call you can verify Unlimited Gmails. So, there is still a lot to exploit. Hope it helps. :)
 
This have newer happened to me before , when i use to create account for random use, but when i am making account to do some YouTube upload and make money with it, this is happening rapidly :frusty: and seriously pissing me off :crazy:
 
To avoid spammers or dummies email, google is asking for phone / mobile number to verify the user's identity they will text or call you for the verification code. Usually, 1 mobile number can accomodate up to 5 gmail sign ups. :)
 
I can create many many Google accounts without phone verification. You need to play with Google at times :)
 
If you create multiple gmail accounts it will ask you to verify through phones there is way to breakthrough

Signup with the website called www.k7.net(you'll get an number auto generaTED)
Clear your cookies and use different browsers each time while creating
Use CCleaner
Then Use k7 to play the recorded voice verification
THEN TYPE IT ON GMAIL AND SUBMIT !
 
For me also it ask but sometimes it dont allow same number it gives error number alerady in use try new phone number for verification.
