Gmail account hacked

Hi guys,

A friend of mine has just got his gmail account hacked with many contacts and important emails.

Seems Google can't do anything about that, do you have a tip to get it back ?

Hacked as in someone else knows the password, or someone else has CHANGED the password?

Tbh you're pretty much fucked. It's happened to me before and google isn't very helpful.

Someone else has changed the password and sent an email to all his contacts with a scam like he's stucked in Africa and need some help, and he asks 800€ to give his account back. Think that's dead too. Anyway, thanks for the help

Gmail dont change Phone number For 1 Month even if you delete it
if you cant rest it with Secret Question or Backup email or Phone
just fill the form you need to provide some details and even if some matches they will return it to you within a day

if its tied to a phone - no way they can take it
phone verify stops alot of account thefts

Just call Gmail customer support and they will handle it.

When my Gmail account was hacked, google asked me to name some email addresses that I recently had sent emails to in order to reset my password. I did that, and successfully got my account back. Hope it helps!

Google logs IPs, i'm pretty sure it raises flag if somebody from a different IP logs into the account and changes the password
they will eventually give it back to your friend

The IP Address change should have locked-up the account. I made the mistake of using a proxy and then Thunderbird went to POP/SMTP my mail and all of my accounts were frozen. Serious PITA.
