Hey,

I worked for several years for a company and still have some access to their database. I'm already retired, but I wanted to know if this kind of information might be of interest to anyone and also what price I could get for it. I worked mainly for large banks during my career.

What do you think? Is the risk/reward ratio worthwhile?

I don't think it's cool selling bank records
EXcept you are coming out with a new product because what the banks got isn't good enough..capitalising on your experiences when you where at the bank

I do understand some firms would allow you to get on product in the same industry for a while since you learnt their secrets
Would be careful on how I use such information as you could be crossing the line

I’d strongly advise against trying to sell or share that database. Client and company data is confidential, and using it outside of your role could create serious legal and ethical issues. If you still have access, the best step is to notify the company so they can secure it properly.

Your years of experience in banking are valuable, though. If you’re looking to leverage your expertise post‑retirement, you might consider consulting, mentoring, or writing about industry insights, those are safe, ethical ways to share your knowledge and still benefit from your career experience.

The replies above are right.

It will be relatively easy to find you after that and get ... unpleasant consequences.

btw, can't you benefit from these records yourself?

Yes, okay, I completely understand your reasoning. However, without necessarily providing all the information from the database, perhaps the name, surname, and address of certain clients could be of interest to some people. For my part, I can't gain anything in particular from it. I know that Mr. X has 10 billion in his account at Bank Y, located at 10 rue X in Y city, but that doesn't benefit me.
