you mean people to promote the giveaway around?? Just contact few influencers or small brands in your niche.

If you have a big account you shouldn't have a problem with getting a sponsor. If you have a small ass account don't bother and just pay for the item on your own.
No, I am talking about the item which is to be given away

Man, you want to do a giveaway but you don't even have the product? That should be the other way around.
Wait till you get approached by someone, otherwise I don't see much use of finding a sponsor and giving a way an item for free.

I run Ecom stores and did a legit giveaway through one of mine. I self-sponsored it. I was giving away store credit for SEPHORA and the giveaway went viral. I collected 22k emails in a matter of 10 days. I gave away gift cards worth $175 because I knew I could easily make it back through the backend (email and messenger marketing). I might do a write-up on it some day because I implemented a LOT of strategies to encourage social engagement.

You need to reachout to them and ask, OR growth your account to a level when they reach to you and than you can ask for a better deal
Account has 40k + following but engagement is super duper low.

In this case you can have 40K followers and engagement of account with 500followers.. so I would say you just have some eye catching number in your IG account. nothing more than that. it will be hard to find a brand who will not look at this factor closely before doing any deal.
