Giveaway / Comp Strategy - Thoughts?

A massive player in my niche has started this linkbuilding method where they have organised a giveaway (Amazon Giftcard $50).

Using this giveaway, they have got lots of backlinks from sites in different niches hosting the giveaway.

Example:

Amazon GC $50 Giveaway

bla bla bla

Sponsored By: COMPETITION

Is this worth doing?

Depends. First of all they’re not contextual links are they? So they’re only good as a part of your link building efforts.

And you have to think about the cost of setting that up - running the competition, convincing sites to host the competition and link back to you and the prize money of course.

I've found the person that's done it for my competitor. They're charging $165 for hosting, outreaching to their network. Then there's the $50 Giftcard = $215 in total.

They're good links for increasing the DA I suppose because they all go to the root domain?

Its good idea to get links and traffic for sure. You can host any type of giveaway
