Seriously depends on the type of followership
There are certain niches a giveaway is more of a loss with no customers buying
I saw a first hand experience in one of my niche last month
Business was doing giveaway for a product that requires deep verification, at the end,they had several registration but no real users

yeah, giveaways are kinda cooked now. quick growth usually comes from collabs, commenting early on bigger accounts, remixing/trending content, or running cheap promo posts. none are perfect, but they work better than random giveaways these days. Unless you offer freebies of course.

The way that can work well is when you have a Giveaway on your page, and then get other users to do a shoutout. Many users do this when it comes to launching a profile.

The problem with giveaways is they attract freebie seekers who kill your retention later. Switch to Lead Magnets (exclusive checklists, mini-tools, or guides). You'll get fewer leads, but they will actually be interested in your niche, not just the prize.

I find giveaways less effective these days; many people follow and then abandon them. What worked better for me was focusing on content that connects post to post, so if someone likes one, they actually want to stick around for the next. This resulted in a fairly consistent traffic flow without the clutter of giveaways

Content that addresses a specific problem, posted in a series or repetitive format, will encourage viewers to follow proactively.
