this should be rare on FB: a full blown blackhat CPA campaign.

i suppose everyone must have seen the "Girl killed herself after dad posted this on her wall" link? it eventually takes you to a survey to find out why the girl killed herself. of course there is no information beyond the survey. it's just a CPA scam.

the thing is, it has lasted really long. and this is not the first time it has happened on FB.

is it really that easy to pull off a blackhat campaign on FB? o.O

I would at least make something up about why she killed herself... Imagine the frustration of all those people filling in CPAs.

yea, but what are they going to do about it? there's no clear report button to be found. and they have already shared the link even before they started the survey.
the smart ones will know they have been taken for and delete the shared link, but most are too ignorant or too lazy for it.

so for the CPA scammer, it's easy money isn't it?
 
is there any post here on BHW about how it was done? i am thinking the person who did it might be from BHW.

by the time they do anything FB will have already taken action. but yea, not a bad idea...report it to *******, or whatever the guy is using
 
Hey I hate to threadjack but is there a clear guide on posting FB ads?

I just started a campiagn and FB " suggested" a price. I bid much lower thinking it was just FB trying to rip me off. Anyone have a guide?

with close to 300 posts you should know better than to hijack.
not that i hate you, just that you have a lesser chance of getting a reply than if you had started your own thread, or searched for a relevant one
 
I dont think its just done by a single person, i mean there was a lot of other similar crap running circles, like "i will never text again after i see this". They are just copying each other.
Some of them not gives a fuck about giving the user anything after they fill out the survey, but the clever ones cover their tracks. And who cares if they arent giving the user anything, i wont be the one being curious about the girl who killed herself.
If his stuff goes viral, then hats off, and learn from it instead of reporting..

every other noob is doing the same thing. But no point reporting such ppl since that is not a part of our job. let fb do the cleaning stuff

what i am interested in specifically however, is the clickjacking part of this. liking a page doesn't share it as a status to your friends. how is this achieved?
 
What's wrong with this? comon it's not the 1st time this happens, there are tons of statues update about these kind of stuff "Wow look at this bla bla bla" , and you can always easily bypass ******* with the code (Google: how to bypass *******) and this guy surely made good money, wouldn't you do the same? It's BHW.

And there is a chance this is real, but I doubt (I've seen the pic, you can easily find it on many sites, did you hear about Google.com?), that's the way to get stuff free :)

90% of the YOU WILL CRY....HAPPEND IN CALIFORNIA are done by the same person. And if you cant figure out how they are doing it, why are you even around here. Takes half a brain to know what they are doing.
 
Its a good idea. I mean hell, anything that you can pull in money and make a profit from is a good idea. Dont report them and be a douchebag. I mean, how pathetic do you have to be, if you know theyre making money and you get butt hurt and report them? Ha.

Exactly, it's just the same meme being reused by copy cats (or even someone who's just rinsing and repeating lol) and going viral all over again. "OMG girl kills herself", "never text again", "The Truth about McDonalds", "Eye Test".. and so many more are time tested classics that can go viral over and over again :D
 
it may seem to be easy to promote on facebook like that but once they get a hold of you, you best believe youre gettin and c&d for making bread on their site.
