Ghost vs Wordpress ? For blogging

I really don't like Wordpress, but I've never heard about Ghost. I'll have to try them out. Thanks, OP
 
Wp is much better. Ghost is only for those who want to write their diary and don't need any engagement. Ghost is not new CMS.
 
I don't think Ghost will replace Wordpress, but I'ts a nice platform at all. Never had the time to use it at it's full potential.
 
I am not saying its going to replace wp.
 
Ghost is really nice blogging platform but no way near wp,ghost is hardly 4yrs old but frequently updated allowed third-party plugins.However not really CMS you can use it for blogs, bios, wiki blogs.
 
I use Wordpress for a few years. It is very flexible and easy to use CMS for blogging.
 
Every since I have moved to Ghost for most of my site where I blog (Including some of the niche sites), I have seen a massive increase in rankings, also, most of the technical SEO is pre-coded in the core of the platform.

I love WordPress, but I equally love Ghost, and depending on the project that I am working on, I pick one (but where I have to just blog, Ghost takes a huge leap)
 
Ghost is perfect if you want a simple blog. WordPress is more of a cms than a blogging platform.

The main theme of ghost is to create a blogging platform which will replace wordpress in blogging terms. WordPress has come a long way from it's original idea (a blogging platform).
 
As others said, ghost is more like medium - good blogging option. Doesn't have nearly the same options as Wordpress for marketing and plugins. My impression was that ghost had a cost, and wordpress is always free.
 
In terms of blogging, I see WP is the choice and everything else is not that good. But, when you use it just for blogging purpose you actually need only 20% of what WP can really do. From my point of view, any light CMS is good for a blog.
 
WordPress is a simple CMS .It can be used for lot of purpose like website building or web management.

Ghost, its all about blogging.Its quite good for making a simple blog.
 
Never heard of Ghost as most us here I guess.

I have checked and its around 4 years old and there not enough plugins as WP. Therefore, if you want customization, chose WP. Ghost seems to be more stable (from what I read).

Ghost is still in early stages and they are not planning any flashy plugins. They are working on similar stuff called "apps" but those will mostly be related to blogging they don't want to divert from that. Otherwise there will be no difference in Ghost and wordpress.

Yeap. Seems like the case.

The funny thing is that Wordpress is now less of a blog builder as a website builder. It's crazy that with the current plugins it has bigger functionality for website building and less for blog creation. :D
 
Ghost is much more lightweight and uses a much nicer (IMO) programming language (Node.js/Javascript).
 
I love WordPress but even so, I appreciate there are problems with it - one being that it is often slow. Sounds like Ghost are trying to address performance and other issues so I am not going to write it off. I might try it out.
