Getting Twitter traffic from your biography

Ok so I just realized that when you put a link in your twitter biography that the link is clickable as long as you have the http on the front.

Now what I have done is used my biography to advertise my affiliate program..put a brief description with my affiliate link.

Then just follow people and for every person you follow and who also follow you back your affiliate link will be visible on their followers page. If you follow 200 people then boom your affiliate link is under all 200 followers pages.

Now the only thing is I have seen very little traffic from using this method.

So my question is do people actually read others biography before following them? What can I do to get people to notice my biographies?

If done right this could mean serious traffic!

You can get much the same effect by making sure that your top tweet has a link to your target site - in fact you will get more clicks because the first thing you see on a profile is their latest tweet in big letters.

I doubt you would get "serious traffic" from just follow / unfollow like this though, considering that a) there are limits on how much you can follow and unfollow a single profile per day and b) there are limits on how many profiles you can be running tweeting or using the same url.

in twitter no body read anything there they all use bots or other websites related to twitter and just tweet

Yes I do use the top tweet method when I follow. Works pretty well. That's really I how I first started advertising on twitter.

Ok maybe not serious traffic lol wishful thinking you know.

Just trying to see what works...since twitter is slapping us in the face. Can't even tweet more than a few replies before they suspend accounts now.

I tried replies with links but not live links just taking off the http so link is not clickable as Checkmate suggested. It does work but traffic is way down.

Hopefully there will be something we can use in TA.
