getting targeted followers

I want to acquire followers from different cities. I'm using hashtags on posts for each city I want to get followers from. It's working ok.. I don't think mass follow will be an option for me.

Any ideas on how to do this? I'd appreciate any feedback

There are several ways you can gain followers, one of the most commonly used methods if follow/unfollow people in your niche. This could be done by targeting users or hashtags or location.

Secondly, by using the right hashtags in your posts and actively posting right content which would be attractive to the viewers and make them follow you.

And if you're big enough, try becoming a part of engaging groups with similar numbers and that should help a bit. If you're just starting, boost your numbers in the beginning helps a lot too, it provides the instant fame and popularity which makes other people make you look authoritative in your niche. Lastly, if nothing works, try using Instagram ads.

We use Gramdominator (although we are looking at Jarvee now). We run Follow Campaigns targeting accounts that contain photos with our target geocode. Geo codes can be pulled from here: https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/212947533/atlanta-georgia/. Just type in your target location, and pull the geocode from the url. In this instance for Atlanta, the geocode is 212947533. In Gramdominator, we can target by location, type in the geocode, and run the campaign. In our example of Atlanta, you could find NUMEROUS geocodes: find codes for major attractions, restaurants, universities, etc. All depending on your niche. It was proven very effective for our SMB regional accounts. ALSO, find a popular account within your target geo, and do a follow campaign targeting that accounts followers.
