Getting Taken IG Username?

Do any of you have any tips or tricks on how to get a taken IG username? Our issue is that an abandoned account has a username that we would like for our brand. We've reached out via DM, and are willing to pay money for this, but the account seems to be completely abandoned. Any methods tips or tricks that I can use to grab that username?
