Ive seen it cause a google dance, but many people run around saying don't bomb a bunch of links at your site or it will get you in the sandbox or penalized etc...
I and google disagree with this.
I would NOT recommend, for various reasons, that you bomb your site. Hammering a ton of links at your site overnight is not going to help and can cause your site to dance around in google rankings etc...
However if blasting a bunch of links at your site would cause your site to go to the sandbox, then I would have made tens of millions of dollars selling auto approve lists, because everyone would buy them from me, blast all their competitors and float to the top.
Blasting a bunch of links is not near as dangerous as most people think, google can not allow it to be. Its also not near as useful as many people think, its not 2008, there are not blatant short cuts to ranking that are abundant.
Test sites is the key. For example, Ive known of a site that was ranked well in google and the only links that were built to it, were from sites that google had deindexed. So links from deindexed sites totally ranked a site that was indexed.... I personally have done tests sites and gamed all sorts of metrics from moz and majestic, and had their metrics saying my site was great, while google didn't rank it at all.
The thing is you can Not rely on what people on BHW say, you can Not rely on what majestic or moz or ahrefs says, and you can Not rely on what I say. You Can rely on data, and if you build test sites, try out different methods and measure the results, you have your own data, and your own proof and you know what works, and what keeps working when the algorithms change, because they will change.
What gets measured gets managed. Gossip on black hat world is hard to measure, so take what everyone says, including me, with a grain of salt
