I am still reading throug this and other forums, but as far as I understand, I would need to look into the following software:

a) Xrumer
b) Sbbomber
) Bookmarking demon
d) Bookmark Wiz
e) Article Marketing Robot
f) Senuke Xcr
g) Scrapebox
h) Seo Power Suite

Also, Venom Seo and Venom Seo pro, but they dont seem to be working / exist. I also read about

i) Link Wheel Bandit and
j) Seo Software Submitter

I am working on adult sites (Wordpress blogs, tgp / smart circle jerk sites, xxx pinboards and tube sites). Would I need all of the above software, or just some of them. Which ones would be the most important to buy, and which ones the least? I know that all these programs come with a price tag, so it is not an easy choice. I can invest over time, but I can't (and I am not sure whether it makes sense) spend $500+ a month for link building software.

Thank you in advance for any info.

Think about it for a second.. if you don't know what you're going to use them for, why would you buy them? You got to find a purpose to find them else you're just wasting your money. I'd say, set up a link building strategy, learn how sites and links work etc then find the right tool to accomplish the job.

Then it's not all about 'building links', you also have to learn what works and what doesn't, so you could be paying for those tools and not making any profits out of the projects.

Whoa, OP, that post was like a flashback to 1-3 years ago.

Get Ultimate Demon, not just BMD.

Scrapebox won't hurt either.

Xrumer is definitely a no-go for you at the moment. Have you looked at Zennoposter?

I just went through several posts on this and Black Hat Team forum, and it looks like I would need to get some software in order to move to the next level of building links. I've been promoting my sites on social media (Facebook, Sex, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Delicious, Technorati and other sites), getting some backlinks from xxx directories (recip and non-recip), using Linkspun to exchange backlinks, building networks of supporting blogs etc, but I dont think it is enough.

In the end, it is quality and relevant backlinks that make the sites rank, so I would like to make sure I do that right. It is kind of hard because there is no books on this topic, so I cant go to lets say Amazon, get a book or two and read it and go from there....

a) SEO Power Suite looks good and professional, but do I need it? (Professional $249 + 124.95 a year for "algo" updates); I guess SEO Spyglass is good, it can analyze backlinks of any competitor etc
b) The most basic ahrefs subscription is $79 monthly or $790 a year
c) Majestic SEO (there is a free option)
d) Senuke Xcr ($147 per month) - this looks like something I could possibly get

I think I heard theat XRumer is no longer good after the latest Google Algorithm update.

In the end, I want to get serious about xxx link building, and get software and knowledge so I can compete and outrank the other sites. It mostly comes down to link building in the end.

Does anybody use SEO Moz plan and Open Site Explorer?

It might sound like a cliche, But I suggest you should start with some manual link building. This will make you understand better how these tools are working and, in the end, you should be able to use them in a very smart way. If not used correctly, these tools can hurt a lot your rankings.

I've been kind of doing it like that for about a year. Adding backlinks to directories, social media etc. I would like to take it to the next level, and I am wondering what is the best way to go. Whether I should possibly subscribe to something like SEO Moz's Open Site Explorer, Ahrefs, get some software (and update it) like SEO Power Suite etc. I read several books about SEO too, and I think it was mentioned there also. I have some kind of toolbar for Fireforx that is showing some of the info for free etc. I guess it would be good to try all of the programs one by one, and then decide, but then I would need to set up some websites just for the testing etc, I dont know...

There is not too many good books about it (organized, professional knowledge; I've seen one coming out in April on Amazon), and even less because of the fact it is adult too...

As far as adult, let's say blogs: add to social media, add to directories, use Linkspun for link exchanges, what else? I dont think these strategies are good enough to make the sites rank. I had one website with a lot of keywords on the first page of Google, but I was adding 3 blog posts a day. I left the site alone for about 5 months, and I am getting about an eight of that traffic now...

This change also, there are algorithm updates, and all that. There is no time to work (and try to make a living online, which is not that easy, especially when you are starting out), read about it, test things etc... I guess it is a matter of testing, experience and time...

# # # EDIT

I spent around two days on link building and I got one of my sites up to PR2, so it is not like that I am stuck with no ideas etc, but I think there is a lot more to this, and I would like to figure it out...

Hm why not GSA Search Engine Ranker I'm testing it now what you think about GSA ? for link building ?

Scrapebox is a must, Senuke or a similar software that does a bit of everything, and a social bookmarking software. Then you can choose a tracking software or service.

Don't just get backlinks and do SEO Google will rape you eventually.

Facebook,Twitter,Pinterest,Tumbler and Youtube are your friends :)

Op you're living in past. Try newer methods. And, in order to get better results, you should try out manual link building because it always helps. It's my personal experience.

I've been using Authority Labs for tracking. It is free only for one month, but that's good enough for now. I was thinking more about something like Open Site Explorer (by SeoMoz), Ahrefs, Majestic Seo, or something like that. I am not sure if it is worth getting into a subscription to give it a try. I guess I would need to start some testing sites also. One way or another, I think it is time for me to move to the next level of off-site SEO.
