Can the members share their best strategies for getting picked up by Google Discover?

As far as I know, it is an automated process and webmasters can't do much about their inclusion. BUT, there should be some factors that increase the chances?

One I think is authority on a specific topic. So, if I continue publishing about one specific topic on a regular basis, Google might consider my site for Google Discover.

Can someone else share their experiences?

I have two websites in Google Discover but don't know how they got there. Others are still waiting.

focus on creating high-quality, engaging content that’s visually appealing and mobile-friendly. publish consistently around a clear niche to build authority. use strong images, catchy titles, and timely topics—google discover favors fresh, relevant content. sometimes it’s also about user behavior, so traffic and engagement can help.

to improve chances for google discover, focus on publishing consistently on a specific topic, use high-quality images, write engaging headlines, and build your site’s authority. mobile-friendly design and fast loading times also help, since discover favors content that’s easy to consume.

They probably meant images of bigger size. As recommended by Google on its guidelines.
that was my initial thought too, but it could also mean images with strong visual impact (whatever this means), or with good SEO. That's why I asked for clarifications, and although I do appreciate your opinion I will still wait for SevenE to clarify :)

A short-term pick-up but I recently had one of my pages shown in Google Discover

What was different about this page? First, it targeted an LSI of a big trending keyword. For example, everyone was talking about GPT-5 three weeks ago, and my page was about "comparing GPT-5 versus GROK-4 for coding". You must talk about a big thing but instead of what it is, what new features it has, how much it costs, or other main points that everyone else is talking about, you must talk from a unique perspective.

Second, hand-made visuals. Featured image, body images, screenshots - everything was made by a professional graphic designer.

For example, this featured image:

has more chances of contributing to being featured in the Discover than this one:

I ain't no expert in Google Discover, but these are what were different about this particular page compared to others that didn't get to Discover.

From our experience, high-quality, eye-catching visuals and truly compelling headlines are the biggest drivers. Focus on content that answers questions or sparks curiosity for a broad audience.

Thanks for sharing these examples. I will try with something like this.

Use people in your images. Your featured image is most important! Follow Google recommendations for that only. Be creative and follow trends. People first content will boost your impressions and clicks.

It's a great source of free traffic so take advantage folks.

From my experience, Google Discover picks up content based on relevance and freshness, not just authority. Posting high quality, engaging content regularly in a focused niche helps. Also, using appealing images and proper structured data can increase the chances, since Discover often favors visually rich, mobile friendly content.

Yes, regular content on a focused topic can help, but factors like user engagement, content quality, and mobile optimization also play a role in getting featured.

it ain’t SEO, it’s content velocity + interest triggers. stay in one topic lane, drop newsy hooks, add unique visuals, push internal links so users binge a bit. once google sees patterns, it whitelists u. consistency + engagement > any technical trick.

Google Discover is fully automated, but certain things definitely help your chances. From my experience, sites usually get picked when they show:

Strong topical focus: You should staying consistent on one niche builds trust fast.
Fresh, timely posts: Try to cover trending or recently updated content that gets attention.
High-quality featured images: You always post big, sharp copyright free images are a major Discover trigger.
Solid mobile performance: Fast loading and a clean layout matter a lot. So use good hosting for fast loading!
Good engagement: Informative content that keeps users reading gets pushed more.

You can’t force Discover, but you can match what it prefers. Stick to one niche, publish consistently, use strong visuals, and keep things fast and clean. That's all for you Bro!
