Getting ratings to e-store products?

Does anyone have any ideas on getting purchases and ratings on e-stores? All ideas are welcome, I know the general kind of stuff such as marketing on social media and such, but I am looking for more like getting some first seed reviews on sites. I have thought about getting friends in other parts of the country to buy products and put their reviews, even if I have to send them money myself. Thanks in advance.
