Hello,
I've been looking at my competitor websites and I've noticed that one of the websites on the first page ranked 1# on 5 keywords and another few keywords on the first page.
But the guy doesn't have ANY content on the website there is maximum 20 words of content on the whole website and that's it. How he is doing that?

Did you mean the whole content on his site is less than your post size?

Looks like He is Matt Cutts's cousin.

Just don't post his site to the public

Google.com ranks for "google" and it also not have any 500 word article. links matter.

Well maybe multiple it by 3. But I'm serious, is it possible that he have articles that humans can't see? Like hidden article page?
Just don't post his site to the public
Why is that?

You can rank a blank page with just a title if its in the low competition.
Quality links matters and social signals.
You can rank a fb page with just its name.

quality and relevant backlinks

links. Check them out with Ahrefs. If there's no links showing up, he's hiding them.

Probably using 301s to rank also.

A lot of goodies are available, content is not one of them

Just checked and he got around 700 backlinks, can you please explain what is 301? I tried to google and found a 301 redirect how can this help with ranking the website?

Well, long story short..

you have your moneysite, let's call it Domain A and you have 2 other domains B and C.

Domain B is newly registered and never been used before so it has 0 links pointing to it
Domain C is a 4 y/o domain with diverse link profile and a couple of strong links.

You can use both domain B and C as a 301 to help you rank your MS. There are a lot of different approaches to this, but the most common scheme is this one:

Because domain C has pretty strong link profile you really don't need to build any new links to it for now. Simply go ahead and 301 it to domain A from the registrar or via the htaccess (you need to have an active site for htaccess). All those juicy links will now point to your domain A which will give it a solid ranking/authority boost (boost will be bigger if domain C backlinks are relevant to the domain A).

Registrar 301 usually takes 3-4 weeks to take effect, htaccess 1-3 weeks but you need to rebuild the site first for this method to work.

Domain B is fresh and you can use it as a buffer for your spam and sape links. Go ahead and buy some quality sape/spam and point it directly to domain B. You can 301 domain B to domain A instantly or you can build a small site and wait a couple of days for links to settle and let the domain B index. You can use same principles from the first example (registrar/htaccess)

This way if your domain A gets penalized, you simply create new site (domain D) and 301 domains B and C to it. You can even do some other crazy shit but i can't talk about that publicly xD

700 backlinks is definitely enough to get them to the top - assuming they are high quality and depending on the competition.

When people refer to 301 redirects they're talking about redirecting an old domain with backlinks to a new domain so that the link juice is passed on to that new domain.

Thank you both for the info but it's a micro niche so he must have a website in the same niche to redirect with 301, he can for example redirect from a weight loss niche to a forex niche? The backlinks will not be related.

Theoretically he can, but the effect would be much lower than if he had something generic or semirelevant

Nice strategy. But if domain A gets penalized isn't possible that domain B and C also would get a penalty at the same time or is that only if the site recieves a manual penalty?

If you make the 301 redirect through htacess and say you have to rebuild the site, why wouldn't it work if you just make a htaccess 301 redirect without any content?

Its all about backlinks. Google would rank blank sites better to tell users to trust adwords better.
