Getting Properties Indexed Quickly

So I have this client who I started doing reputation management for exactly a week ago. I'm doing the usual suppression by creating the site of this particular client (individual) and doing the social media pages and what not.

However, not all properties have indexed quickly and I explained to the client that it usually takes time but he's one impatient guy.

But it's worth asking, aside from the usual linking to social media profiles and pages from the main site, are there any other methods that you guys use to get properties indexed quickly.

How long does it usually take you guys?

I don't have an answer for you, but a question on indexing might be better posted (if not already answered) in one of the SEO forums.

I'm not sure this forum gets as much attention as those.

One of the problems that I've run into on the reputation management side is not the indexing, but just that Google doesn't update their index on infrequently searched terms as often. I'd see SERPs that were only updated once per week so you might have that going against you. It can be frustrating to do all that work and see little results, and the client can question what you are doing as well. That is why its extremely important to set client expectations on the front end. You are moving eight to ten properties above the offender. Its not a quick or easy task. One thing I have used to force a SERP update is a press release. It usually goes to the top as a news result and the normal results get a refresh at the same time.

I have set expectations but the dude just doesn't want to be patient.

I brought up press release but his fear is that it will bring attention to the client and that bloggers or others might look into the client, come across the negative article, and then write another negative article.

But what you said makes a lot of sense; Google doesn't update the index for infrequently searched terms as often. Is that theory or is that well known?

Its pretty well known to me. I don't know where I originally came across it, but I've seen it in action in several of the reputation management campaigns that I've worked on for clients.

Having negative reviews and fixes requires appropriate planning and efforts. One of the easiest ways to overcome this is to create positive profiles with positive content and through internal linking. Creating profile on high authority sites help you to push down link negative link.

Found this trick for you to "force" an indexation, assuming you have or can add a video...

There may be non-WP equivalents, if you are not using WP, but you now know that it works with videos, so may be able to narrow your search.

Who cares about indexing?

Is it ranking? If not, that's what you need to figure out and fix. It sounds like he doesn't have faith in your process which typically means he either doesn't understand, or he understands and doesn't think it will work.

This isn't the problem, but a symptom of how he's feeling.

How long does it usually take you guys?

Don't worry about getting indexed. Focus on ranking. New properties typically need a push at them for the person's name. Look at what other properties you can use to link to them and keep it consistent. All stick rate is important as these links usually have no commercial intent.
