So a while ago I was asking about how you make money with AdSense, and people said through the clicks you get.

But lots of people talk about getting paid per 1k views. Now I'm not good with AdSense, even though my first account is 4-5 years old I understand nothing about it except that you can make money with it.

So how do you get paid per view if you only get paid for clicks? Do you need to join a network to do this or is there something I'm missing? I'm really dumb when it comes to AdSense, so please help a noob out.

EDIT:So networks are the way to go. Would you suggest partnering with one as soon as possible? SocialBlade would accept me already (account was made 3 days ago) or should I wait a bit and partner with a better one?

PPV is available only from networks. Adsense is a Pay per click ONLY. I do find its easie just to do the math. People like to say ppv because you can measure your keyword pay by this. So if you are making $10.00 for 10,000 views, your ppv is averaged at $1.00/1000. With the $1.00 number, you can estimate what you make if your video goes viral or views increase dramatically. I'm not saying its 100% accurate, its just an average and an estimate you can make. Otherwise what you'd say is my PPC is .05-.08 cents which gives you no information.

Makes so much sense... So networks are the way to go. Would you suggest partnering with one as soon as possible? SocialBlade would accept me already (account was made 3 days ago) or should I wait a bit and partner with a better one?

I stay away from networks. Adsense is KING! But this depends on your niche. If you have a gaming niche, networks are the way to go. If you are a singer, Vevo. Etc etc. If you are a vlogger, many networks will take you.

Gaming you won't make much money unless you have massive amounts of loyal subs willing to watch your videos and the same goes for everything else. The other option people aren't addressing is trying to get advertisers yourself. Attracting your own advertisers makes sense since you can lock in rates for 3-12 months and ensure a nice income for awesome benefits in return. The problem is you need to be able to sell them to your channel, which takes a shit ton of psychology and timing.

But didn't you say PPV is only available from networks? So would that not be much better than no network? Getting payed per view AND clicks sounds better than just for clicks to me...

That depends on your Ctr. In Adsense, if your Ctr is really low, maybe it's a bad niche. A high Ctr doesn't mean an Adsense ban. Click through rates make the difference with Adsense. If my CPC is 05 cents and my Ctr is 1.5percent, you'd make a minimal amount. Multiply the Ctr to 6 percent and you would make 4x. What's the importance? Let's do the math.

Earlier I said people use ppv math as a guesstimate for 1000 views. If your Ctr was 1.5 percent and you make $1/1000 views, on 10000 views you make 10 bucks. Your okay with 10 bucks but not happy. Now let's factor a higher ctr of 6 percent. It's 4x higher than 1.5 so you'd make $4/1000 views. On 10000 views, you're at $40.00. So with the same amount of views but different Ctr, you go from okay to awesome!

That makes a lot of sense! But still, is there any reason you WOULDN'T partner? I mean, how can you go wrong with PPV and PPC? Or am I missing something ( I probably am I'm terrible with this stuff)

I would also like to get some answers about that partnership. I'm adsense partner at the moment, but i'ts not going very well with random funny content.
