Would like to know your experience with getting your post onto explore.

So we know explore is based off your consumption habits like interactions, follows, etc. But how does IG decide what to pick? My guess would be based on similar hashtags you like more often, from people you've interacted with a lot but not follow, and some other similar heuristics

So then what are the metrics behind getting on explore?

Can a small account get onto explore? (Under 5k followers)

What velocity of interaction is required to hit explore?I would assume it would be something like
if (interactions / reach) > XX% then show on explore, where interaction and reach must be a certain threshold based on the account size

Can an account be banned from explore? Just how they can be banned from hashtags, etc.

What are your experiences getting on explore? Is it consistent? Size of account, nice, etc.
Basically what is considered 'viral'

Explore works mostly on your data you give to Instagram in various ways - past search history , your friends interaction, posts interactions , Sometimes i also figured i was seeing something on explore that i only searched for it on Youtube

I heard that the engagement rate on the first 10 minutes counts the most. Comments are like double likes, Save post is like superlikes
But I would be interested too if someone have better experience in the topic

Based on my experience, my smallest account that reached the explore page was around 3-4k followers, but I was doing f/u so the engagement was boosted by that. I believe small accounts can reach explore page, but only with proper hashtags and at least 10% engagement rate which can be boosted with targeted f/u, engagement groups and so on.

Hmm interesting, I have a small account under 1500 followers and regularly get engagement of 40-60% like 750 likes + 50 comment but haven't seen any explore views yet.

The rate at which the engagement comes in is usually throughout 24 hours though.

Typically will top targeted hashtags if they are the right size. Have a few posts that were top of a hashtag for a couple months now.

Wonder why no explore though...
