I am trying to get my site indexed. How should I go about doing this? Just building links?

Links help but you should also.

Add site to WM tools.
Fetch your site and click submit to index.
Fetch your sites site map also.
Add Google analytics.
Share it a few times on Twitter and Facebook.

All these will help you get indexed.

Google plus shares can help a lot..

FIrst send all links you want indexed to pastebin. Then copy the link pastebin gives you and put it in pingler.com Then, take the pastebin link again, ot even your sites home page and inner pages, post them on Google Plus. Create a few fake G+ accounts and then go +1 your share. Then try doing the same with Twitter. The alternative is buying lindexed. Which is 14.99 I believe? Hope this helps.

Add your site to google index so that your site pages gets crawled by google bot...

I don't know why anyone would ever do anything to 'index' a core/money site...

It will naturally index as soon as you've built a few decent back-links.

You only have to worry about pushing indexing on the lower tiers that have no back-linking. I never even 'push' indexing on my first tier; it will happen naturally from the 2nd and third tier links.

OP wasn't referring to backlinks but to his website.

I agree Google will index your site/links naturally.

The things I suggested I do for all sites naturally, its part of a new site set up process.

And that's exactly what I said ?! Not sure why you said that.

I own 17 brand sites, over 1,000 lead/traffic-gen/niche sites and several private networks, and I've NEVER done anything to purposely index a single domain... It's an entirely unnecessary step; as it will happen 'naturally' when the first few decent links are found.

1 'decent quality' PR'd link will get you indexed in a matter of hours/days; why bother with any additional steps when you need to do that link-building anyway?

And using Google WMT and GA is not always the 'best' option for a lot of IM'ers; I personally avoid them like the plague!

Missed your top sentence :/

To me they are not additional steps, adding WM tools and Google Analytics to any site is standard. Same for setting up social profiles.

Get set up in GWT and build and submit your sitemap. Start adding content and building quality backlinks and you will get indexed. Do not rush it especially if there's nothing on your site to crawl anyways, quality content and more quality content.

The best way to index your website is to upload a video to youtube with a link back to your site. It's what I've noticed works best in the latter days.
