My daytime job consists of me installing and maintaining network infrastructures (ie anything that plugs into a network switch/router), and I do a bit of work for national chains. Some of these national companies don't tell their employees that their sales office or store is going to close, and I end up being the bearer of bad news. It's almost like catching a deer in headlights. So I feel like lately I am hired just to fire people. Often times these people can't get through to their bosses, and I just have to keep packing up their computers, phones, and servers. All I can really say is "yeah, that sucks", cause I don't really know these people. I gotta do it again tomorrow, and so I just wondered why people can't do their own dirty work? If you own / owned a company, would you have the guts to fire your people, or would you hire out and let someone else do it?
