Getting high rank with not exact domain

Hi,

I have a domain called best**.com and it gets about 6000 searches a month, but I also want to get a high rank for just **.com because it gets about 10 times more searches a month. I was thinking I could just do this by writing articles that link back to my money site with ** in anchor text. Does anyone think this will make it happen if I just write enough articles?

Sorry don't really know what u mean.

There is no surefire way for this. Sometimes writing articles that link back to your site is enough. Sometimes you need more ip diversity than what the article directories offer. And sometimes you will need some paid reviews/links or high pr article networks to get to the top. It all depends on your competition.

Regardless, do the article marketing and try to mix in social bookmarking and some profile links. If you stuck at some position after a while doing this, you will know you need some more juice.

you need loadsss of backlinks(good quality) and good amount of domain age...ofcourse if the competetion is tough

The best way to get ranked is definitely a combination of all the backlink methods you hear all the time. Article marketing, combined with blog commenting, link trading, .edu backlinks, forum links. Everything you can think of is analyzed by google and included in the almighty algorithm. If you need backlinks built or articles spun I'm going to shamelessly self promote here for a sec. Google DzierbaMarketing. It's my site and I do article submission/spinning, backlinks, you name it. But if you don't feel like it I'd definitely recomment posting in forums, with your domain, with anchor text in your sig, and post and post and post, cause every post, you get a backlink from your sig.

Thanks a lot for all your replies. But what I mean is since my domain is not a 100% match for the higher search keywords I am also targeting, will backlinks with those keywords in anchor text eventually give me a high rank for those keywords or am I just doing something pointless?

Just search for "make money". How many results on the first page do you see with an exact match domain?

That pretty much answers your question.

If you have an exact domain domain you'll have a bonus over your competitors, but at the end of the day who has more and better backlinks shall prevail. If you are building backlinks with the kw you want to rank for as anchor text, you are doing it right. Just keep doing it.

Here is an example that people use all the time. Look up "click here" on google, and the adobe software is first. This is because people are constantly linking to the adobe software download page with click here as the anchor text because people always write you need to download the adobe software, "click here" to get it.. The domain name doesn't matter, cause it's the anchor text that Google uses primarily to decide ranking. Of course keywords are a small factor, but it's NOT NECESSARY to get ranked for a certain keyword.
