Getting Hacked?

By any chance, does anyone have any experience with getting hacked?

Two of my emails (my main email and my PayPal email) got hacked as well as all of my domain/hosting sites (hostgator/namecheap/godaddy). It seems to be mostly targeted to my accounts on those sites as well as the emails attached. They charged my credit cards and PayPal with a bunch of charges of around $2,000 but I called my credit card companies to chargeback and am currently disputing an unauthorized charge on my PayPal. I changed all the passwords to whatever applicable already, except for my Namecheap/Godaddy account since I forgot the passwords/users and they're attached to my main email that got hacked. I'm also currently trying to recover my main email. I'm not particularly too worried since I didn't really lose anything important, but my main concern is how did this happen? I haven't done anything exceedingly stupid, so I'm just wondering if I had some security issue or if I just got unlucky. I ran a full Norton check also just in case of keylogging/backdoor/worm/whatever, but nothing popped up. I'm not even sure if Norton handles that kind of stuff anyway, but I ran it just to be safe.

Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening again, or if there's any further security measures to take? Not really sure what to do since this has never happened to me before.

Also, on a sidenote, I got the IP of whoever was on my secondary email account and it was from Bangladesh. Not sure if that does anything or not.

Do not use the same passwords on different sites. This is how I was hacked. I now have different passwords to every site I am a member of.

Always try to make unique password for everything.

Turns out I had a backdoor.bot.

I changed all my passwords and used malwarebytes to check for everything and then used avast to be sure too.

No clue how I got the malware, but just a reminder, make sure to use two step verification for your emails. Losing my main email was a bitch.

Yeah, was about to say it sounds like malware. Always remember to have some sort of Anti Virus, preferably the best: Kaspersky or ESET Nod 32.

The free software on malwarebytes.org is really good at scanning for and removing malware.

I got malware today as well. What's strange is that I was on the Nikon USA website just downloading a program for my RAW images when it happened. I really don't use this computer for much else, so I'm not sure how else I got the malware.
