Getting Google/Bing "Offical Site" Verification.

If you post for "insurance companies" on G or B, you will see the phrase attached to their title tag "Official Site". Searching through the source codes of these sites, no where can I find "official site." These are G's and B's arbitrary additions of course. Search DuckDuck, and you won't see any of this Official Site stuff.

I came here to find out if anybody knows exactly what one can do to have their site receive "official site" status by B and G (besides having a billion dollar market cap, i know i know). Also, if I add "Official Site" myself to my meta, think there will be any neg consequences (or seo positive benefit - even marketing benefits, due to customers clicking in with more trust)?
