Anyone do this successfully or what to do it? I can't seem to get my first sale on there (I have great feedback and volume on several other freelance sites), but it seems impossible to get the first one here with 0 feedback.

Any advice or anyone want to swap some feedback and sales?

use the same tricks you used to get great
feedback on your other freelancing accounts

There were no tricks, i just got sales after a couple weeks and grew from there. On elance I have yet to get one after 2 months...

I am victim of "no job because of 0 feedback" too.
Let's create a group and trade feedback.

PM me with "Elance feedback trade" in your PM's title if interested.

I'm a copywriter and whenever I joined a new site, I would introduce myself and say to the potential client, "I know I'm new to [site name], but I'm not new to freelancing. Here's the link to my profile on [site you have feedback on] - 'link' - where you can see my 5-star feedback and many satisfied clients."

Something to that effect. That way the client knows you're not a noob and can see feedback from other clients. Just make sure you have your profile set to public so that in case they don't have an account on the other site, they can still view it. If you write an otherwise good cover letter, you should have no problem landing gigs. I never did.

The black hat method would be trading feedbacks with another users.
The white one would be to have good references from another sites. I remember when I have started on one freelancing sites with no feedback then - I was promoting my external profile when submitting my offer and managed to get constant jobs regardless the huge competition from reputed users.
