    Hi,

I bought the WPaction theme (arcade theme). After uploading all theme and plugin files, the website is showing Red X's on the front page. What could be the problem?

Does this theme scrape the info and images from somewhere?

If yes, check if your Uploads folder is writable.
In the demo for the TVtheme you can see that there's an uploads folder in the root of the site.

    Code:
    http://fnarp.com/[B][COLOR="Lime"]uploads[/COLOR][/B]/family-guy.jpg

I did check the upload folder, bit it was empty. Permissions were set to "0755". This is writable, correct?

When the folder is empty AND it is supposed to be filled with scraped images than the permissions needed for your server are 777 like nufaman said.

Usually 755 is okay (and more secure than 777) but once in a while I stumble upon a server where 777 is needed to make the folder writable.

I've had lots of problems with all sort of scripts and 755 permissions (wp chache is one that caused me lots of headaches), almost every time changing it to 777 fixed the problem, hope it works for you
