Hey guys -

Don't mean to sound hopeless here, but just feel really frustrated and need to rant a little. I just seem to be getting nowhere. Tried ranking sites, videos, spent plenty of money but getting no returns. Ranking is the main issue. I quite often see someone who I think I can outrank but am almost always surprised how difficult it is, despite having better links and other metrics. I really just don't get it. Not gonna' give up but man, it can really get you down. Thanks for listening :)

EDIT: THANK YOU FOR TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO REPLY. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT GUYS :)

Timing is everything.

Most people want instant results with the SERPs, but if you want instant results don't expect long term results.

Slow and steady is the best way to the top for long term results, so don't go spamming your site into oblivion because you'll fall just as fast.

You're in a rut Trying running with some ideas that are out of the box and don't always go with the same keywords as the competitors. Maybe some longtail keyword campaigns.

The downside to making money with SEO is having to play the waiting game. Lots of times I think google purposely delays increasing rankings just so that SEOs can't figure out what they did right to get those rankings. Other times they make keywords do the google dance so we can't understand what's going on.

What I do while waiting on SEO results for my sites is study other parts of IM. PPC, Media Buys, Social Networks. Methods that take time to learn but yield faster ROIs.

Sorry you are getting discouraged. When I get discouraged or start feeling down, I just read tips on this forum. I always end up learning something new and finding a new approach. Just stick with it, and you will get the results you are looking for. Maybe you just need to shake things up?

Thanks for your replies everyone :) This is a great community.

Start with easy long tails on your site as your site gains authority make a push for thous harder kw. Not only will this boost your confidence as you start hitting first for some easier words, but you will get natural back links, money, traffic. Win Win WIn Win in my book.

my tip for you when you feel sad
Just close your pc for sometime and go for a walk a park will be better then start think from the starting so may be you will find out what was your mistakes and how can you improve yourself. I do this for myself I am in IM from 3 years mainly I have earned nothing but still struggling and one day I will succeed don't get disappointed. See the story of whatsapp co founder he was rejected for the job but after 4 years he cost them 19 billion

There is no such thing called failing, unless you gave it up yourself...
If you are not able to rank your videos, you need to research why it failed to rank? Research more and read more, all the ranking is based on algorithm, so there is no way you can't get a hang of it.

And the most important is do not continuous blindly without knowing what you are doing and how you failed.

Remember, there is a search engine called google. Google anything you want to learn.

I'll add that the OP should follow some recent discussions that explain how to rank sites either "WH" or "BH," such as the journey threads of seocrab or others. Also consider building your SEO and ranking efforts around Bing and Yahoo (who together have a third of the search engine market) instead of Google (whose ridiculously rapid algo changes are making it more and more unreliable for long term stable traffic).

Also increase reliance on non-SEO/non-ranking methods (forums, Yahoo Answers, Video, etc) to get more direct link or human click-through traffic to one's site. Between the non-Google SEO, and the direct link methods, this should replace the traffic coming from Google, and be more stable and long term besides.

When you are learning, feeling overwhelmed is just a sign that you are fighting something really hard, and the results don't matter. When you finish every battle you will be better than before.

I'll tell you something that IMO helps...
Sometimes you won't earn a dime for a few days, weeks, a month or maybe more.

But from my point of view, it only takes earning a 'little bit' to know that it's really possible. Once you know it's possible, nothing will really ever wash away the feeling that it isn't out of your reach.

You can't be less than other people, as they are no different from you; they maybe have more determination and more knowledge. But you can get those on the way with a little time.

I like the saying that Arturas posted, as ranking in SEO is generally something that takes a long time, unless you try churn and burn ideas which won't probably last that long anyway.

That being said, I also get discouraged from time to time, but getting back on your feet after that is a matter of endurance and determination :)

Here's the funny thing...
What you're doing, could actually be 100% and working!
Often times, in SEO, when you go about doing things "correctly", your results won't show, overnight.
Keep doing what you're doing, and believe that it's working. Don't stop and change your methods, just because you're not seeing the results you want, today.
Many people think they fail in Internet Marketing, but in reality, they simply give up before they succeed.

Thank you again to everyone who taken the time to reply. I really appreciate it guys :)

Sometimes it's really frustrating...when it gets like that, I've found stepping away from the computer to be pretty beneficial. I might just walk away for a couple of hours up to a day or two, come back feeling refreshed, and nail the issue. It still might not be profitable right away, but coming back well-rested with a clear head lets me look at it in a brand new light.

If you want to make really big money, I recommend creating a product, an affiliate page, hire a solid copywriter, then go recruit affiliates. A guy in the "increase" your manhood that I know just did that and is making 5 figures per day. My partner is also doing something similar.
