Getting content and copyright.

Hey, I've heard about the tool 4Kstogram and ripme.

Let's say I take pictures of other users and by the extreme case that one of the photos was made by a professional photographer,
How can I avoid getting in trouble?
I thought about always crediting some random name like "Thanks Tommy for this great picutre" or something.
Would it cover me? the worst case scenario I can think of is that they would ask me to take it down.
What you guys do?

2) any suggestions for great tools you use and for which site it is?

3) Is there anyway to watermark and filter a whole folder?

4) Is there a way like 4Kstogram but for videos from vines & facebook too? (mass downloader)

If you use other people's content without their permission you are simply committing a copyright infringement.
worst case would be a legal process.

it doesn't matter if you credit someone else who doesn't even exist. you are using other people's content without their permission.

also, crediting someone who doesn't even exist is the most stupid thing you could probably do. Just give credit to the user you took that picture from that's the least you can do if you use their content.

most are already happy if you just give them credit, as they also profit from someone mentioning them.

there are always people who will seek a legal process, you'll never know.
 
I was under the impression that if it was not used for commercial use or you don't do any type of marketing on your account you cannot get in trouble with the law. Unless you state that it is your photo. However IG can still ban your account. I may be mistaking though. At least give credit where credit is due!

that depends on the country you're living in. different countries have different laws. some cut harder on copyright infringements, some don't.

I'd never heard of anyone getting busted for that. as already stated, play it safe and at least always credit the photographer/owner. most will be happy with that.

If they ask you to take it down, do it immediately.

legal fees higher than the profit? not quite sure about that. ;)
 
i would be REALLY careful, a friend of mine has a 950k page, and he always credits the sources of the post, but it doesn't really matter. He once put the source URL in the caption, and the person who owned that content filed a complaint, which got his account banned. If your goal is to make it big, i'd stick with getting content already found on IG, and always crediting the source. Don't pull it from their host site and put it on your social medium without first getting consent from the author

Legal fees are normally paid by the losing party (UK)
In the US I believe that the winner would be awarded damages that would cover their own legal fees

Okay so I think I'm gonna give credit for each photo I took from stogram.

Any other tools your recommend?

You can use DInstagram chrome plugin to download photos, or use the bulk downloader here.
 
Pretty easy just to give credit to the owner. I've do this and always give credit. If a photographer get's pissy, and rightly so, it'll be more hassle having to deal with the situation.
