Getting Clients When Starting Off

Hey guys,

Between this forum and youtube videos, I have spent the last month deep diving into Digital Marketing!
I made the step about a week ago to make a facebook page for my new agency, as well as buy a domain and get a domain email!

I have sent out 200 emails and 50 DMS offering my services free for 2 weeks to show positive results in return for referrals and then we can chat after if they want my services moving forward however I haven't had much luck with this like none at all! What do you guys and gals do to get new clients when starting off?

It's simple.

Apart from asking people in your network like your closest family and friends, post to relevant Facebook Groups!

There has to be a Facebook Group for small businesses in your area. There always is.

Post to 10 Facebook Groups and you should have some conversations going.

Also make use of classifieds sites depending on what it is you're selling.

You can also buy Jr. VIP and sell here on BHW if it's fitting. The sky's the limit! :)

Depending on what he's selling, I actually think OP is doing a good thing. It's not sketchy at all.

He's just getting started and doing it for referrals which is a very smart move IMO.

How old are you OP?

You don't want people to take advantage of you. Offering something for free shows that you're possibly desperate for business (which is OK in the beginning).

More importantly, OP has to not be afraid of picking up the phone.

This is CRUCIAL when you're starting out.

You're leaving your phone number on every message you send out, right?

Not a lot of people jump on the opportunity to buy a service advertised via email from someone they don't know.
 
Well, what does your email campaign look like? Do you follow up emails that don't reply? How many times do you follow up? I would do a side project that you can use a case study to pitch to leads. LIke create an affiliate site etc and let it rank that way you have a proof for your leads. There are tons of ways you can give value in your email, like sending them an audit of their site etc.

The GMass extension for Google Chrome is perfect for sending cold outbound emails and following up with them.

You don't even need a server, they send the emails through your GMail account. Golden tip right here, OP :)
 
Hey guys I used some of your advice and believe I got my first bite! I posted on the local classified, then in some small business groups on facebook! That mixed with telling them I will do 2 weeks free just have to pay their ads I got a few nibbles and one solid bite so far and will keep plugging away! Thanks guys!!!!
 
I like to avoid offering anything for free which takes a lot of effort on my part. Offering it for cheap price is better then offering for free because sooner or later you will lose interest in what you are doing if it is not bringing in the cash flow. Plus, with free offer you will attract wrong type of customers. Atleast get them to subscribe to something in paypal for something like, free for first 5 days, then $$$ per month, this way you will weed out the time wasters.
