Hey guys I started up a MNS based Amazon Affiliate site with completely unique content. I've been ranked on the first page in about five keyword searches from just doing basic SEO with tags, meta description, and things like that. I've also made some YT videos that backlink to my site.

About a week and a half ago I noticed this autoblog three times on one page ranking on all the keywords I was attempting to rank for. I figured it was just a fluke but now its ranked even higher than it was a week and a half ago. :banghead: I thought autoblog sites were dead?

I went in and checked backlinks finding I had about 190 and the other site only had 80. This makes no sense to me. What can I do to outrank this site? I want to keep my site as "whitehat" as possible because this is more long term for me.

Some autoblog sites are still making good amount of money. I have seen specific niche website secure good ranks in search engines.

How do I rank ahead of it though. What should I do? I've been making a solid $25 p ay on that site and ranking ahead of that auto blog could take me to $30 or even $35.

Welcome to the new face of Google!

...it's never been easier to rank quick EMD sites, as long as they have plenty of growing, fresh content and good internal structure.

That is interesting, I always wanted to try autoblogs, but was discouraged by threads here on BHW saying that google has made it impossible for them to rank. I might consider making a couple as a test.

How should I go about ranking against that autoblog site?

Not really sure what you're asking...

You know how to rank a site, as is evidenced from your current position, but you're asking how to get it higher and beat another site?

As with any other site, reverse engineer it's links and profile and try to build more links; probably concentrating on a wider platform profile and some power-links to give you some authority-boost. Why not try a similar level of fresh content as the site beating you? You just need to weigh up all the factors and make a call depending on the risk involved with a hard push.

The thing is the site that's beating me is an autoblog. Should I buy backlinks? Or will that hurt me during the next update?

Just slowly grow it organically as you've been doing. Post unique content consistently, and create an entertaining & useful site. The autoblog might just be doing the "google dance" right now, and could fall from the rankings. As Jascoken said, maybe follow up with the links that it has as well?

Check their backlink, maybe their backlink is strong than yours? Private network maybe?
and what kind of 'whitehat' backlinking method you use?
Usually whitehat/greyhat method took some time to rank your site..
