Getting Bad links from a domain that is always down.

In my google webmaster tools a site has been building 10-25 crappy links a day to my site for past 2 months. In total there are 1300 links and growing.


Ive been monitoring the situation but what is really strange, when I try to visit the links(different hours on different days past month), it's always down because of bandwidth limit. Just wondering if this some sort of tactic or if anyone experience this. Since it constantly down, how is this person even building links and how is google picking up the link?


These links are coming from different subdomain of same domain.


Im not getting any errors in G Webmaster tools, so I'm not sure if I should start disavowing the links or just leave it & build strong links.


If anyone can suggest what I should do or point me to right information, that be great. Peace out.

silly question, but have you checked the site from another machine? There's nothing worse than thinking a site is down when it's just you and your router having DNS issues

Hey didn't think of that. I just asked a buddy from another city to check the site but its same issue, it is down with same error "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later."

Have you checked the Google cache of the pages linking to you?

I have seen tricky negative SEO these days where they act like the site is down from normal traffic but bot traffic is cloaked and essentially direct copies of websites in order to trip duplicate content issues and hide low quality toxic links.

I just checked cache some of the sub domain links, and saw a site. Further investigate it and found most of links redirect to a different domain, it some remedy site which is pretty bad looking, with adsense and Amazon on it. They also have a contact page.

THis might be negative SEO. Are you seeing any changes in your rankings ?

Fortunately im ok with the rankings today and also ok past month. I think maybe its because I have a strong link profile, i dont know, but I am worried over time and the links keep coming from this cloaked site(I have 1300 so far), that my site will be effective eventually. Especially I have couple high traffic keywords on first page.
