I have recently (3 months ago) released some 3-4 press releases thinking I would get some backlinks from others who copy the main sites of sbwire.com and the like. However, ahrefs.com only shows the original backlinks from sbwire.com.

Has this method gone its way for building multiple backlinks or did I do something wrong? The content in my press releases was pretty mundane stuff but I thought that wouldn't matter as most website scraping is done automatically.

They still work, from my own experience only those from reputed sources (usually from websites that aren't accepting all kinds of crap), also beware of using targeted anchor links, why? because in a disavow attempt I was asking for some examples of unnatural links and they all came from press releases & web directories where I've used targeted keywords.

Short story, I've made a list of all the backlinks with targeted keywords that couldn't be edited and the penalty has been lifted (not all my press releases were submitted to disavow).

It REALLY depends on how good your press release is and how many authority sites picked it up.

Pretty shitty in all honesty huge majority 90%+ are all nofollow links, only really good for diluting :(

Hey thanks everyone for the responses - so if you have had a good press release run, where your content was replicated out, was it through a service and if so which?

It is all about the Subject/Content of the PR. We offer a service to offline clients for big $$$ - going to launch a BST at a much more affordable price soon. Shoot me a PM if you want to review it.

Yeah, I had some great experiences with a guy who runs a service - PM me and I can point you in his direction. Most PR distribution services are shit though: both their distribution net and content suck.

i have done 2 weeks ago 1 press release with abnewswire which distributes to over 400 other sites in its network, today when i check my google webmaster tool its showing over 40 Sites which give my sites links from network on abnewswire, this week i am doing testing with prbuss / sbwire / prwire ?

some distribution sites works really well but they are paid.. like sbwire.com (yeah it does work.. depends on ur PR Quality), prbuzz, prweb, prlog and pr newswire.com (via prlog..)

i am about to buy abnewswire Monthly Subcription Guaranteed inclusion to 500 Top News Press / Radio TV News Channel Sites, i will have unlimited montly Press release Subcription Let me know if some interested....

It is best to post in paid sites than normal spammy sites..

abnewsire?? does it really works?? any traffic or serp increase?

Yes and definitely. I am using this method of help a client to get top spot Google ranking.

Don't confuse a press release with "press release article marketing".

Press releases, real press releases, are solid gold. They get picked up and distributed by news organizations.

Unfotunately most press (seo) releases are useless promotion, and never get put on a news wire, because there is nothing newsworthy about them. They get posted to press release sites.

Press release sites are link farms, they will print any drivel sent to them, and their links are no longer counted, and some even count against you.

What are taking About abnewswire syndicate over 700 Top Press Sites you Press release, on top as i said i have done this 2 weeks ago & now when i check my Google webmaster tools it really show me link for abnewswire network, i can't say my Serp increase due to only as press syndication as main factors since i used many other link building options as well ..
