Getting backlinks from extremely old websites

Hello

I was just thinking about this. Would it be beneficial to get backlinks from sites that were indexed by Google back in 2006 or so?

I noticed on google, there is an option that can filter out dates of search results. Since they were indexed for so long would it affect the PR of my/or anyone's website?

any backlink is good, older sites provide higher authority
