My sites were hit by penguin. I think one of the factors is low quality backlinks. How to get rid of them? I used some method (I forgot the name) on google webmaster tools but it still seems to be counting.

You can delete the links through google webmaster tools.
Also I suggest to do an audit and analysis of your website. In fact, penguin hits because of several factors. So do research and try to minimize the things that might confuse this mean birdy. Add unique content, try to build only natural links, well, all the things that should be done by a white hat seo man.

But the thing is there are no guarantees that the penalty will be removed. Although it is quite possible, but risky, because you never now whether your effort will pay off.

i recommend to check all your tier1s and deleted those rubbish links :D

How can you just delete the low quality backlinks from a site?

Are a lot of you guys still using GWT's?

That just sounds to easy...

I have tested the disavow tool on a few sites and I saw absolutely no results. I don't know if Google included it as a joke or just to stir up hype but for me personally it didn't do a thing!

it works.. well, maybe not for all sites, depending on the quality of the sites themselves.. also it takes time to see effect
