Getting back into Bing SEO. Need some advice

A few years ago I had a few well ranked sites on bing that brought me some decent traffic (until they didn't).

Over the past few weeks, one of my failed affiliate sites started to rank high on bing and brought me some much needed, extra cash.

As a small side project, I have decided to create a few more niche sites with the main goal of ranking on Bing, but with being out of the SEO game for a while, I need some help.

Does anyone have some sort of checklist for onpage SEO, that focuses on optimizing for Bing instead of Google?

I know bing likes things such as EMDs and back links from high authority sites, but when it comes to onpage, my brain automatically goes to optimizing for Google (semantic kws, entities, natural kw densities, etc..).

Last time I tried, bing SEO was more like the old school way of ranking on Google, with stuff like your exact match kw in the first sentence and bolding lsi kws.

Before anyone mentions it, I know the traffic potential is a lot smaller than on Google, but I gave up trying to rank non-parasites on there a while ago lol

Bing still rewards simple, old-school on-page SEO. Use exact-match keywords in the title, H1, URL and early in the first paragraph. Don't overthink semantics-moderate keyword repetition and clear topical focus work fine. Clean site structure, fast loading pages and straightforward internal linking help a lot. Basic formatting like bolding main terms can still give a small boost.
 
Bing still likes old-school SEO, so just write clear content with keywords, use simple on-page tricks, and get some good backlinks.
 
Can't rank on bing for some years now as people say i need more exact match anchors but I can't do it as google won't like it.
Reading about being ranked on bing... it's always the same... emd, exact match, keyword "stuffing".
 
From what I’ve seen, Bing still rewards simpler on-page signals more than Google. Clear keyword placement in titles, H1s, early paragraphs, clean structure, and solid internal linking still work well, as long as it doesn’t look forced. It feels more old-school, but consistency and clarity seem to go a long way there.

Site speed and mobile friendliness still matter, but bing isn't as strict as Google here.
 
Backlinks from high-authority sites really matter. Even a few quality links can push a page way higher on Bing.
 
I keep URLs simple, include the main keyword, and avoid too much dynamic parameters. Bing loves clean URLs.
 
My site gets more than 100,000 monthly visitors from Bing and Yahoo.

While Google refuses to show my new articles in Google, they immediately show up in Bing.

I think I should focus more on Bing and forget about Google.
 
Bing indexing is unpredictable. I lost some sites index and never found them on bing till now.
 
Bing tends to reward obvious relevance over clever optimization.
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I have setup 7 different sites (they are now around 3 weeks old).

So far I have:

- Setup socials for each one and auto post new pages to them.
- Created personas for authors and linked social accounts to the authors
- Created a handful of web 2.0 and profile links (branded)
- Blasted around 1k GSA links to the tier one links (targets that don't create their own pages e.g. blog comments/guestbooks) to help indexing

I have also setup bing webmaster tools and indexnow, but none of the sites are indexed yet.

When I inspect URLs on bing webmaster tools, they say they have crawled them but have not considered them for indexing.

Hopefully it's just because the domains are new and don't have much of a backlink profile.

Anyone else been through this and not indexed?
 
Focus on on-page relevance, clean indexing, and user signals, since Bing values content clarity and engagement more than sheer backlinks.

3 weeks + brand new domains is nothing for Bing tbh - especially if you already hit them with GSA noise even if its tiered. Bing crawls fast but is super conservative on actually flipping pages into the index until it sees some trust signals + clean crawl historyy

What worked for me is letting the sites sit clean for 2-3 weeks, no new links, just add a couple legit pages, interlink them, resubmit via IndexNow + sitemap, then drip a few real links directly to the money pages not just web2s. Once the first page indexes the rest usually follow fast - Bing hates chaos early, it likes boriiing (IMHO)

Think simpler than Google

Exact match in title/H1/URL, keyword early in content, clean internal links, and a few legit backlinks still move Bing

over-semantic optimization doesn’t add much there.
 
On a semi-related note, I've been reading that ChatGPT uses Bing for it's web search. Anyone know if it's true/still true? That would be a pretty big plus for optimizing for Bing.

This is true. Keyword stuffing also works in bing seo. EMD works just fine as well.
 
for bing seo, focus on exact match keywords in titles and first sentences, use clear headings, internal links, and get high authority backlinks. bing favors straightforward keywords, trust signals, and old school on page seo over google style semantic optimization.
