I just saw this but there is a website that renders Articles and their links are also indexed and ******** and link to the original article.
So you can get another backlink to the site that your article is from and yours for free.

If its too spammy for you just use it as Tier 2.
It takes almost no time and can be used to force a crawl or recrawl.

If it's so easy to get a link from it, I suspect the overall value of your backlink is going to be on the low side.

Look up OKCupid and Pornhub's press releases. You'll be amazed at how they ride news trends to get backlinks from high value news sites.
